WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO DO?

Deuteronomy 18:9; Hebrews 4:11; Galatians 5; Romans 7:23 Isaiah 28:22

What are you willing to do? Take heed how you choose. Choosing to do good or to do evil is your responsibility and an act of your sovereign will. You choose every day, at any given time, no matter who you are or where you live. Hebrews 4:11 says. Don’t follow any example of disobedience. The scriptures say not to return to the ways that Jesus has delivered you from. Those who are accustomed to doing wrong are compared to a leopard not changing its spots. Remember that there is a law in your members, says Romans 7:23, that “wars against the law of your mind, trying to bring you into captivity to the law of sin”. This War can start with a small skirmish in the corner of your mind, but too soon the thought repeats until it becomes a pattern of disobedience that is hard to break. But Galatians 5 says: We know the truth now, and the truth has made us free. We are now the slaves of righteousness, and Isaiah 28:22 says to” let those bonds of righteousness be made strong, for there is destruction determined even upon the whole earth. “ In other words, God tells you to strengthen your will because of the future. Other hearts may grow cold these last days, but our bond to liberty grows the more we practice doing good.

God can rebuild your goodwill. Just as He hardened the Pharaoh’s heart so that His judgments against Egypt were justified, He can harden your resolve to obey. In the Bible, Esther was taken from the beanfield to be the Queen of Persia, and to save God’s people from the annihilation planned by Haman, the king's chief counselor. Even Our Lord was held in heaven until the time was right for Him to be born, crucified, and rise again to save the people from their sins. Time was created for God's purposes, and people were placed on earth to fulfill them. In other words, your time is now. Your purpose is going forward despite your setbacks. Remember, He does not deal with us according to our iniquities, and our mistakes have strengthened us for God's purposes. While you were suffering in your last trial, as terrible as it was, you were being molded into a sharp tool fit for His use. There is a time for everything under the sun, Ecclesiastes says, even though the appointed time for something in your life may lie as yet in the future. 2 Timothy 2:26 says to come to your senses and escape the snare of the devil, who wants to take us captive to his will. When you are being tested, we need you to stand straight, look ahead, and pass your tests in God with that bulldog will, that limitless determination. Although my message today is brief, listen and take heed of what you are willing to do. Amen?

FAMILY DESIGN

Gen 18:27; 27:26; Jude 13:8; 1 King 2:1; 1 Thessalonians 3:12; Ecclesiastes 9:7

God created us because He wanted a family. He wanted a family relationship. He made us in His image, so we are fashioned and hard-wired for love and for family. First with our God and maker, and next with our brothers and sisters in Christ. This relationship is a choice, of course, but we don’t work so well without them. Humans are designed to work best under certain conditions. The Bible says we are put together like the rest of the creation with order and wisdom. When we act unlovely, we do not function well and are unhappy. We are designed for love!
The Scripture says that we are the justified walking by faith, which in turn works by love, and that particular element working in us creates joy. Moreover, we rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. We are to communicate in such a way that our words, fitly spoken, produce gold in our lives and theirs. Job 6:1 says that to him who is afflicted, kindness should be shown even though he forsakes the fear of the Lord.
We also speak words that have a spiritual influence on our families, and that includes our church family as well. It is what Abraham did in Gen 18;27 when he schooled his family on His covenant with God. It is what Isaac did when he blessed His children, in Gen 27. We should bless our children and one another with the Word, pronouncing on all those we love God’s favor and grace. If there is correction called for, we do so with humility and love, reminding one another of the advantages of a repentant heart and a changed mind. Humiliation is a poor teaching tool even for children, and to mortify one another is not love. Our children have arrived here with a purpose, and parents must ask according to Jude 13:8, for God’s instructions regarding the plan for their lives. Praying that the Lord completes that which concerns them, and indeed, each of us in our church family is praiseworthy. It is noble. According to Matthew 22:39, this includes those in the sanctuary who are strangers to you. It is the very proof that we are Jesus ‘disciples, and they will see it. We are known and understood by our love. We ought to pray according to 1 Thessalonians 3:12 that we increase and abound in love to one another. We pray this way so that, no matter what, brotherly love continues with fervency and with a pure heart. If we don’t love this way, is it love at all?
The Lord has spoken to us these things so that our joy may be full, says John 15:11. It is His joy fulfilled in ourselves. Those whom we bless will offer thanksgiving to God, and as Ecclesiastes says in 9:7, we can eat our bread with joy, for God has accepted these good works, and we have fulfilled the royal law of love.

DON’T TURN AWAY TO SHIPWRECK

Isaiah 48:8; 1Peter 1:12; Exodus 14:4; I Timothy 1:19
I wonder how many of us would agree that the longer it takes a promise to arrive, the more difficult it is to relax in the Lord and trust in Him. Along the way, you may discover that frustration has weakened the hopes you once had. Thinned out its concentration, so to speak. I think that we must reach up to another level of trust in God. I believe that there is a deeper dimension of relaxation in the Lord, another rung on the ladder of hope. Even as all the fearful scenarios in life are alarming to witness, the scriptures say that you and I must go to war against those fears. Do not let the promises of God, which are ‘yes and amen’, become inert and quietly slip away. You have the joy of the Lord as your strength.
Paul said everything proceeds from faith. “The just shall live by faith”. Habakkuk, Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews all say the same. 1 Timothy 1:19 teaches us to hold on to our faith and, with a good conscience, do well. Has your absolute faith in Christ slipped so that now you have more faith in yourself or in someone else? Is there an idol nearby, a job, or a talent in which you trust instead?
Isaiah 48:7 states how faithful and transparent God is with us. Telling us what He will do for us ahead of time so that when it occurs, we’ll know it was Him and not someone else. It was not something that probably would have happened anyway. No, we shouldn't turn aside from God’s promises because in that direction lies shipwreck. Paul warned believers about shipwreck, but then he said,” I think better of you all”, as do I. Exodus 14:4 says God cherishes a deep individual bond with us. His name is Jealous, and He has earned the right to covet the personal relationship He paid for with His own blood.
Sometimes armies have to take their tools and dig trenches. They take up positions at the enemy's front lines and dig in. It means there is no retreat. They hold the line. It doesn't matter how much worse their situation has become; it doesn't matter how long until the battle turns. Since we have joy as our strength, we can turn our private panic rooms into sanctuaries where God will meet with us. If He said it, He’ll do it. If He purposed it, it will come to pass.
I don't think there is ever a time when we won't need faith for something, because that's how we, the justified, live. We live by faith! Don't cast away your confidence, because as Hebrews 10:35 says, there is “great recompense of reward”. Follow your inspired conscience, because you know what God's word says to do; do it. Oh, I know, I know, but do it anyway! Amen? Faye🙏

THE GLORY OF GOD IN US; REDEMPTION LIFE

Jeremiah 31:33,34

Today we celebrate God’s redemptive work. I'm convinced that God deals with mankind through covenant agreements. I'm convinced that we should let the old covenant of the law finish its work, which is to help us accept the truth that ALL our efforts to be worthwhile children of God are futile and know that what He asks of us under the 1st covenant agreement, the 2nd covenant provides, and by His HS God will work everything in you. He will release us from every bo***ge to sin and to the law, which the Word called the ministry of death. We know from Scripture that God’s great aim is to join everything in heaven and earth together in His son Christ Jesus, to mature or complete everything in Him, and for us all to be one. But there was trouble under that Old Covenant. People could not keep their hearts right with God. In Jeremiah 31:33, God told the prophet,” With the covenant I will make after those days, I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their minds. I will be their God, and they will be my people... I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Matthew Henry’s commentary, written in 1850, explained that whatever God requires of us, His grace supplies.
Amazingly, now we want to do what God wants. We delight in Him during our prayers, and He gives us His desires. We are not anxious that we are such failures that we will never get it right; He will make a way. That student debt was a barrier, but He broke it for you. That relationship was not at all good for you, but now it seems you are free. In the new covenant, there is a heart delighting in God's laws, and God gets his way. He realizes His purpose and gives His children one mind and one spirit with Him. This is glorious! It is the same glory that Jesus shares with the Father, and when you yield and obey, you become more and more like Him. It is a miracle that takes place in your soul every single day. You have such value to God that nothing can decrease you. Remember that the Lord is always on your side, so you can be on your own side, too. Furthermore, because of the resurrection, you have the right to recover the good people and things that were stolen from you. This is cause for celebration, isn't it? God’s new covenant, a blood covenant, is for the forgiveness of sins and constrains you by the law of love. So, now you must forgive others their mistakes, as God has forgiven all of yours. I believe we all agree, don’t we? Amen?
