I hope you are planning on joining us for our Lord’s Day services on Sunday. Prayer time for the church begins at 9am followed by SS at 9:30am. In the 10:30am worship gathering I will be preaching on Romans 8:35-39 and at 6pm I will be preaching on Exodus 25:1-9 and we will be celebrating communion together. I hope you will plan on being with us tomorrow for our services. Prayer time for the church begins at 9am followed by SS at 9:30am. In the 10:30am worship gathering I will be preaching on Romans 8:31-34 and we will be singing these great songs: O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing; I Will Sing Of My Redeemer; His Forever; and Before The Throne Of God Above. At 5:30pm we will be joining with other churches in our local association (PBBA) at First Baptist Church Cochran for our Associational Annual Meeting. Everyone is invited to attend. There is a short business portion of the meeting at the beginning but the rest of the time will be for worshipping God together in song and through the ministry of the Word. We will NOT have services tomorrow evening due to this meeting. Also, this coming Wednesday (10/14) there will be NO midweek services . Have a great Saturday!

I hope you all are enjoying a good start to your weekend and that you are making plans to be with us tomorrow for all of our Lord’s Day services. Prayer time for the church begins at 9am followed by SS at 9:30am. In the 10:30am worship gathering we will be studying Romans 8:29,30 and in the 6pm worship hour I will be preaching on Proverbs 1:20-33. We will also be observing the Lord’s Supper tomorrow evening in the service together and I hope you will make plans to join us for this means of grace and help for our weary souls. Hope to see you tomorrow for our services. Prayer time is at 9am followed by SS at 9:30. In the 10:30am worship service we are studying Romans 8:28 and singing these songs: Crown Him With Many Crowns; His Mercy Is More; O Lord, My Rock And My Redeemer; and Christ Our Hope In Life And Death. At 6pm tomorrow night we will have our monthly fellowship meal. RBC will provide meat and drinks and each family is asked to bring sides and desserts to share with the church family. He has a good point about the WW2 generation…

"My generation, most of us, our fathers fought in World War II. They knew the Great Depression. And one of their mantras—and I don't want to show any disrespect because in a sense, it's admirable—but one of their mantras was, 'I just want my children to have the things I never had.' But here's what you need to understand: it was the things that our fathers never had that made them the men that they were. The fact that when my father was a little boy, he was standing on the street corner selling newspapers in order to provide food for his family, that made him into the man that he was. A very hard-working, determined man. Now, here's what I want you to see. Young men, and fathers (if you're already a father and you're listening to this), you are not called by God to give your children all the material things you never had. You're called to provide for them shelter, and clothing, and food. But your greatest responsibility is to provide for them godly teaching and a godly example. And if you have to drive around old, beat-up cars, and get your clothes at Goodwill—which, you can find some really good bargains there—if you're required to do that, then do it. And don't expect anyone to pat you on the back, because you're just doing what you're supposed to do. You're just doing what you're supposed to do."

I hope you will make plans to join us this coming Lord’s Day for all of our services. Prayer time for the church begins at 9am and it is a sweet time of fellowship in the ministry of prayer. SS begins at 9:30am followed by our morning worship service at 10:30am. In our morning service this week I am preaching on Romans 7:7-12. At 6pm we have our evening worship gathering and we will be studying the doctrine of sanctification from several texts of Scripture and celebrating the Lord’s Supper together. I hope many of you are enjoying an extra day off of work this week on this holiday weekend. I know some of you are headed out for vacation and some are headed back from vacation and we pray that all of you would enjoy safety in your travels. For those who are in town this coming Lord’s Day we hope you will be here with us for our services beginning with prayer time for the church at 9am followed by SS at 9:30am. In the 10:30am worship gathering I will be preaching on Romans 6:15-23 and in the 6pm worship gathering I will be preaching on Genesis 1:1-3 and we will give a brief report on our recent youth trip. We will also be celebrating the Lord’s Supper in the 6pm service. I hope you are planning on being with us for our services this coming Lord’s Day. We begin the day with prayer time at 9am followed by SS at 9:30am. In the 10:30am worship gathering I will be preaching on Romans 6:11-14 and we will be singing these songs together: O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing; Blessed Assurance; Soldiers Of Christ, Arise; and My Heart Is Filled With Thankfulness. At 6pm we will have our monthly fellowship meal but this time our menu is hamburgers and hot dogs that the men of the church will be grilling. Men who want to come and help should be here by 5pm on Sunday. Families of the church are asked to bring sides and desserts to share with the church family. I hope to see many of you here this week. I know this is a popular week for family vacations so for those who are going out of town we pray you have a good time together and safe travels and rest and I hope you will make plans to attend a service on the Lord’s Day with a local church in that area. It will be a blessing to them and to you and your family as well. Thanks for all those who prayed for us on our recent youth trip to KY; we had a good time together and we made it home safely last night! I would encourage you to ask our youth about the trip in the coming weeks as you see them at church. Have a good Friday and good weekend!
