Murl’s advice about Hurricane preparedness:
• Fill up bath tube/s with water to flush toilets.
• Fill up pitchers/kettles/jugs/used water bottles/extra ice coolers/ and any other container that will hold clean drinkable water.
• Put a chain saw filled with gas/oil and extra “mixed gas” in pickup or the vehicle that you will use.
• Insure you have a means to cook food; camp stove with extra gas/propane. NOTE: not electrical stoves.
• Get ice or make as much as you can and put in plastic bags in freezer. You can also put fresh water in jugs and freeze..NOW!
• Insure ice chest is clean and ready for use.
• Insure you have canned food or dried food; but, keep in mind the best food to have is food that doesn’t need heating, if possible. NOTE: dried food needs water!
• Know where and how to get your important papers.
• Money? Get small bills..$1’s, $5’s, $10’s, and some $20’s
• Flash lights, lamps with extra fuel, candles (be safe), solar lights that can be charge outside during day and used at night.
• First aid items.
• Call relatives/friends and tell them where you will be.
• ABOVE ALL; TRUST GOD! IF YOU SAY YOU TRUST GOD, THEN DO IT AND DON’T PANIC! PRACTICE REST AND PRAISE WITH FULL CONFIDENCE GOD KNOWS YOUR ADDRESS AND HAS YOU BEST INTEREST AT HEART!
