Finding Freedom by Admitting We’re Not in Control

You’re invited to join us for a powerful night at Celebrate Recovery as we walk through Lesson 2: Powerless. This lesson reminds us that real change begins when we stop trying to manage life on our own strength and allow God to step in with His.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:3

We’ll talk honestly about the struggles we can’t fix ourselves, the burdens we’ve been carrying too long, and the hope that comes when we surrender control to the One who can restore us.

Dear Cobb Island Celebrate Recovery Family,

As we close out our second year of Celebrate Recovery Cobb Island, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. Thank you for showing up—week after week, month after month—with honesty, courage, and a desire to grow. Your presence has shaped this ministry into a place of safety, transformation, and genuine community.

This year, we witnessed God move in powerful ways. We saw relationships restored, boundaries strengthened, and hope rekindled. We watched people take brave steps toward healing—owning their stories, making amends, offering forgiveness, and discovering freedom from hurts, hang‑ups, and habits that once felt impossible to overcome. We celebrated victories big and small, knowing each one reflects God’s grace at work in us.

We also grew together spiritually. Through lessons, testimonies, worship, and open share groups, we learned to trust God more deeply, surrender more fully, and walk more confidently in the new life He offers. What a gift it has been to see faith take root, grow stronger, and shine brighter in this community.

To every leader, volunteer, newcomer, and faithful attender—thank you. Your willingness to be real, to support one another, and to keep coming back has made Celebrate Recovery Cobb Island a beacon of hope.

And now, as we look ahead, we’re excited to invite you into Year Three that starts Jan 8th at 6:30. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or you’re just discovering CR, there is a place for you here. God isn’t finished with us. The best is still ahead, and we can’t wait to continue this journey of healing, growth, and freedom together.

Thank you for being part of this family. Thank you for believing that change is possible. Thank you for choosing hope.

Keep coming back—it works if you work it.

With gratitude and appreciation,

Celebrate Recovery Cobb Island Leadership
