May we never treat gathering with God’s people as just another Sunday routine.

We get to worship.
We get to hear His Word.
We get to fellowship.
We get to encounter His presence.
What a privilege.
It’s Sunday.
Let’s go to church and give God the worship He deserves.

I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’ — Psalm 122:1

Copied from a local church, but it applies here as well! ♥️

We want to make sure everyone is aware of our policy regarding children in church. It’s pretty simple:

If your kids are loud, please still come to church.
If getting everyone dressed and out the door felt like a battle and you’re running late, please still come to church.
If your toddler won’t sit still, please still come to church.
If your baby needs to eat, please still come to church.
If your child asks questions at the least convenient time, please still come to church.
If someone cries, drops a toy, needs a snack, or makes their third trip to the bathroom, please still come to church.
If your child doesn’t know all the words, all the prayers, or exactly when to sit and stand, please still come to church.
If you feel like you spent the entire service managing your children and heard approximately 12% of the sermon, please still come to church.
If Sunday morning feels more messy than peaceful, please still come to church.
If you’re worried your children might distract the people around you, please still come to church.

And even if someone who seems to have forgotten what it’s like to have children has also forgotten their manners… please still come to church.

Why?

Because children do not learn how to be part of the Church by staying home until they can sit quietly.

They learn by being here.

They learn the hymns by hearing us sing them.
They learn to pray by hearing us pray.
They learn to worship by watching us worship.
They learn to love the house of God because they see us love the house of God.
And they learn that church is home because we make room for them here.

The wiggles, the whispers, the dropped crayons, the crying babies, and the little voices are not interruptions to the life of the Church.

They are evidence that the Church is ALIVE.

So bring the babies. Bring the toddlers. Bring the big kids. Come late if you have to. Sit in the back. Sit in the front. Step out when you need to—and come right back in.

Just come. ❤️

Children are not simply the future of the Church. They are part of the Church right now.

There is a place for you here.
There is a place for your children here.
You are welcome here.

I will not miss church.

Here’s why.

I missed church for years. Years ago, I experienced church hurt, and I completely stopped going.

I got married. I had kids. I was still a Christian. I still believed in God. But I wasn’t truly following Him.

My life was filled with sin, and I was living my life my way instead of living it for Him.

Seven years later, my husband and I decided to get back into church.

And boy, has God completely changed both of our lives.

I don’t want to miss church.

I want to go.

I want to worship.
I want to hear the Word.
I want to grow closer to God.
I want my husband to grow closer to God.
I want my children to know who God is and grow up knowing Him.

There is absolutely nothing more important to me than that.

So no, I won’t miss church.

I’ll be there when I’m tired.
I’ll be there when life is busy.
I’ll be there when it’s inconvenient.
I’ll be there when I don’t feel like going.

Because I know what my life looked like when I was far from God, and I know what my life looks like now that I’m pursuing Him again.

I don’t ever want to go back.

So if those church doors are open, I’ll be there.
