What an incredible day at the First Baptist Church of Passtown as we continued our 119th Church Anniversary Celebration with Passtown Swag Sunday!

From Passtown to other church merchandise, our church family showed up and showed out with pride, unity, and enthusiasm. More than just apparel, our Passtown merch represented our shared faith, our rich legacy, and our commitment to the future God has for our church.

We are grateful for every member, family, and friend who joined us in worship and celebration. Your presence helped make this special day a wonderful reminder that for 119 years, God has remained faithful to Passtown!

As we continue our anniversary month, let us celebrate not only where God has brought us from, but also where He is leading us.

Day 5 Sermon Devotional - "Stay the Course"

📖 Scripture: Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

✨As we conclude this devotional journey, we are reminded of the constancy of Christ: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In a world of change and uncertainty, this truth remains our anchor. Our call to “stay the course” is fortified by the assurance that our Savior is unchanging, His promises unwavering.

Let this certainty breed peace in your hearts, knowing that Christ's love, grace, and power are timeless. His presence is our assurance between the 'already' and the 'not yet'. May this hope empower you to face tomorrow with a confidence rooted in the eternal.

Reflect on how Christ’s unchanging nature affects your faith journey.

What aspects of your life need to be reminded of Christ's constancy?

How can this understanding bring peace amidst the unknown?

Day 4 Sermon Devotional - "Stay the Course"

📖 Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:1-5 - But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

✨As we continue to explore staying the course, we delve into Paul's description of perilous times. His words resonate today as we witness a world filled with selfishness, pride, and spiritual emptiness. It is easy to be discouraged by society's moral decay, but Paul urges us not to surrender to the despair these times bring.

Our focus should be on remaining constant in our faith, confident in God’s sovereignty despite external chaos. It’s a call to live counter-culturally, embracing godliness over godlessness. By doing so, we become beacons of hope and truth, shining brightly amidst the darkness.

How can you maintain your faith in the face of societal pressures?

What specific actions can you take to be a light in your community?

How has focusing on God’s sovereignty helped you in challenging times?

Pray for discernment to navigate societal pressures with faith and wisdom.
