Church family,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our Superintendent, Pastor Bret Allen, who went to be with the Lord this morning.
Pastor Bret was a faithful servant of God, a steady leader, and a true shepherd to pastors and churches across our district. His life was marked by humility, strength, and a deep love for people. He didn’t just lead—he cared, he invested, and he showed up when it mattered.
Over these past days, we have seen the power of the Church come together in prayer. And while our hearts are broken, we stand in the hope we have in Christ.
Scripture reminds us in 2 Timothy 4:7,
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Pastor Bret finished well.
Today, we honor his life, his leadership, and his legacy. We are praying for the Allen family, for our district, and for every life he impacted.
We also hold onto this truth—he is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
On behalf of Foothill Church, we extend our love, prayers, and deepest condolences.
He will be deeply missed, but his impact will live on.
To our family and friends from the Allen Family and the AGNCN Executive Officers...
It is with great sadness that we inform you that Superintendent Bret Allen passed at 10:58a this morning.
First of all, we want to thank you for the way you have rallied in prayer since Friday morning. More than 250,000 have mobilized in prayer, not including the thousands of congregations that led in prayer this weekend. Prayer has sustained us.
Many have asked about the reason for strict confidentiality. Please know that the medical narrative has changed multiple times since Friday morning. The desire was to share what was accurate as opposed to what was unknown and premature.
Early Friday morning, Superintendent Allen suffered a bee sting in his neck while tending to his beehives on his property. Being highly allergic to stings and not fully covered with his gear, he began to run toward the house based upon the need for medication. The release of adrenaline combined with his allergic reaction triggered a heart attack. For the past 72 hours, doctors and medical staff have conducted testing to determine brain function due to the amount of time he was without oxygen.
We continue to call upon our Global Church to stand in prayer with the Allen Family, the Northern California/Nevada Assemblies of God, and the thousands of friends, ministers, congregants, and more that have been impacted by the decades of faithful ministry through Superintendent Bret Allen.
Please know that your calls, texts, emails, and many social media messages have been received with love. We do ask that you continue to respect the privacy of the family and the AGNCN Executive Officers during these moments as they process decisions. Please know that we will be sending out additional information as it becomes available.
With gratitude,
The Allen Family and the AGNCN Executive Officers
