Phillips Chapel Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church in Jimtown, WV During that service Meade Gutshall stated that a church was badly needed in the community.

Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church beginning on Sunday June 2, 1945 when Meade Gutshall asked Ray Loudin to go to Jimtown with him for a service. On July 15,1945 pledges were taken for the building fund of Phillips Chapel. Construction of the church began 1947 and the church was dedicated on August 23, 1951 and put on the Norton/Mabie charge.
