Greetings Loved Ones of Jehovah (The One Who Is),

It's Holy Week. The end of Lent. Sunday is coming. Of all the 365 days of the year, this one Sunday stands apart from them all. It is our remembrance of Jesus breaking the hold death had on us and making available to everyone the gift of eternal life with Jesus in heaven. Your sin was forgiven when Jesus died on the cross, now you have real life in Christ forever. Do you believe? What an awesome Savior. Join with other believers to praise Him!

The sermon is titled "How Much Does Jehovah Love Me?" with scripture reading from John 19:16-42, John 20:1-18, and John 3:16-17. If you cannot join us in person at 10:45, join us online or at another church. This is not a Sunday to stay home!!

We will celebrate The Lord's Supper which is open to everyone.
The women are encoureaged to wear an Easter bonnet.

He Lives!

The Coalgate Methodist Church would like to invite you to join us on Wednesday, April 1 at 5:30 for a Seder Meal. This ceremonial Sedar Meal is open to all who wish to learn about the traditions that Jesus would have followed. (this will not be a full meal only ceremonial so don't come expecting to leave full).

A Christian Seder meal is a Passover-inspired ritual meal, often held during Holy Week, that connects the Jewish story of Exodus with Jesus's last supper. It typically involves a Haggadah (guide), featuring symbolic foods like unleavened bread (matzah), bitter herbs, and charoset, while focusing on Christ’s sacrifice as the ultimate Passover lamb.

Key Elements of a Christian Seder Table
• Seder Plate: Holds a shank bone (lamb/chicken), bitter herbs (horseradish), charoset (apple/nut mixture), greens (parsley), and a boiled egg.
• Matzah: Three pieces of unleavened bread representing the Trinity or tradition.
• Saltwater: Symbolizing tears of slavery and redemption.
• Grape Juice/Wine: Four cups are often used, representing promises of deliverance.
• Haggadah: A guide detailing the order of the service, often customized to highlight Christian theology.

Key Rituals and Symbolism
• The Three Matzahs: Often broken, symbolizing the unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the breaking of Christ's body.
• The Afikomen: A piece of matzah hidden and broken, representing the hidden Messiah.
• Washing of Hands: Symbolizing purity and humility, recalling Jesus washing the disciples' feet.
• Charoset: Symbolizes the mortar used by slaves, representing the bitterness of sin.
• Redemption Story: The focus is on liberation, moving from bo***ge in Egypt to freedom in Christ.
• Participation: It is designed to be interactive for all ages allowing Christians to honor their faith's roots in Judaism while celebrating the narrative of Easter.
