We want to say thank you to everyone that came out to the Pig Roast! We had a blast seeing everyone and hope nobody left hungry! We'll see everyone next year at the 2027 Pig Roast!!

Pig Roast Fun Fact:
Pigs were first brought to North America in 1539 by Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto. Because pigs did not require special maintenance and could easily roam free to forage, they became a staple of early colonial life. However, the free-roaming hogs became such a nuisance to the grain fields of New York City farmers that Manhattan residents built a permanent wooden wall on the northern edge of Lower Manhattan just to keep the pigs out. The path alongside that pig barrier eventually became known as Wall Street.

Guess what y'all! It's getting about time to chow down on some hog!! Mark your calendars so you can be sure to get some pulled pork and all the fixins'! From mac-n-cheez, potato salad, macaroni salad, Italian pasta salad, cole slaw, even Dad's Potatoes are making an appearance. So come on out. Bring your family. Bring a friend out or as Father would say "Bring your neighbor!" Either way it'll be a good time and some great home-cooked food.

It's that time of year for picnics and fun! Come out as a guest at the Coal City Area Club for a relaxing afternoon with a little BBQ, fishing, games and more importantly socializing. Meet new people. Fish with friends. Play some pickle ball or throw some horse shoes. I heard there may even be a kickball game! The Fellowship Committee is providing the burgers, dogs and brats with a couple drink options. Bring a side or dessert and let's have some outdoor fun!
