Starting this Sunday, Aug. 16 thru Sept. 13, join us for 30 Days of Prayer. We will unite in prayer as a church to seek renewal, revitalization, and a fresh understanding of our mission in and for Haywood County in the next season. We cannot attain any of these things apart from God, and we don’t want to attempt a mission that He has not called us to.
So for 30 days, we will practice listening to God together as a church. We’ll use the Examen, an ancient prayer tool that guides us through a series of 5 “steps” or prompts: seeking, thanking, reflecting, repenting, and anticipating.
We’ll start our 30 Days with an introduction of this tool on Sunday from our associate rector Hannah King and an opportunity to be guided through it next Thursday by Claire Andrews of Kerith Retreat.
Your part? Pray the Examen on your own once per week, using prompts we’ll send you home with. At the end of the 30 days, we’ll join with the Global Week of Prayer movement by organizing 24 hours of prayer at the Friesens’ home.
Whether you have been at The Vine for two weeks or twenty years, we are eager to hear how the Lord might lead you through prayer for this church.
What is God doing among us? Let’s find out together. Below are some of the details and save-the-dates for this special time starting on August 16:
