This Sunday we continue our journey through the book of Exodus by looking at Exodus 3:1–7:7, where God meets Moses at the burning bush and calls him to lead Israel out of slavery. After forty years in Midian, Moses may have felt forgotten, unqualified, and unusable—but God had been preparing him all along.
At the burning bush, Moses learns that God’s work is not powered by human strength, ability, or confidence, but by God’s own presence and Spirit. Though Moses offers excuses—questioning his identity, his message, his credibility, and his ability to speak—God continually reminds him: “I will be with you.”
As Moses returns to Egypt, the story shows that God’s deliverance does not always come easily or immediately. Pharaoh resists, the people suffer more, and even Moses questions God’s plan. Yet God reaffirms his covenant promise: he has heard, he remembers, and he will act.
Together, we will consider how God calls and equips imperfect people, how his presence fuels his mission, and how we can trust his faithfulness even when circumstances seem to get worse before they get better. The goal of Exodus is not only freedom from Egypt, but knowing the Lord who delivers.
See you Sunday!
Pastor Jeb
