MOST PEOPLE FOLLOWING JESUS ARE MISSING THIS ONE THING

When we think about discipleship, it's easy to assume it's just learning more about the Bible.

Or showing up to church on a regular basis.

Maybe it's trying to do the right thing, or helping people out when they need it.

And all of that is part of it. Spiritual disciplines matter, and they shape us as we mature in Christ.

But biblical discipleship isn't just knowing more Scripture or doing the right things.

Biblical discipleship is doing what Jesus did.

So what did He do? He sought people out. He loved the lost. He rescued the broken. He drew people into relationship with the living God.

And if we're really following in His footsteps, then eventually His mission becomes our mission too.

ADMIRING JESUS IS POINTLESS (UNLESS YOU DO THIS)

At the Last Supper, Jesus stood up to serve.

And make no mistake, there's a time to sit and learn.

There's a time to get filled up. It matters. It's good for our souls and our futures to study what the Bible says about God.

There's also a time for rest. Rest is critical. We're human beings; we have to rest.

But rest is not an end in itself. It's never the goal.

We rest so we can run again.

It's pointless to be filled up if we're never getting poured out.

So, 1 John 3:18 says, "Let us not love with words and speech, but with actions and in truth." Living the good lives we were made for means being disciples. And at some point, disciples have to stop just admiring Jesus, stand up, and go move like Him in the lives of the people around us.
