We want to make an impact in our local communities and abroad by leading people to Jesus and letting the Holy Spirit transform lives. We actively seek to serve our community and not just attract the community to come to our church building. Church is who we are, and that transpires throughout our communities. We want to invest into our communities,, and watch it flourish by faithfully living out the Great Commission. We’re a multi-generational church, of all ages, and all walks of life. Jesus is our focus and the Bible is our source. We're a non-denominational congregation affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson, IN). 📯 WE ARE IN THE DAYS OF AWE

Have you ever wondered why the Bible begins with a trumpet blast and a call to remember?

Right now, the Jewish calendar is in a season traditionally known as the Days of Awe. The ten days between Rosh Hashanah (The Feast of Trumpets), and Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement).

For centuries, this has been a time of reflection, repentance, prayer, and returning to God.

And while Christians are not required to observe these days as a religious obligation, there is something deeply meaningful for every follower of Jesus in the biblical themes they bring before us.

📯 WAKE UP

The shofar was a call to attention.

Don't sleep through what God is doing.
Don't become spiritually numb.
Pay attention to your heart.

❤️ EXAMINE YOUR HEART

The Days of Awe traditionally call people to look honestly at their lives.

Where have I drifted?
What needs to change?
Who do I need to forgive?
Who do I need to ask forgiveness from?
Where have I stopped listening to God?

Scripture tells us:

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
— Psalm 139:23–24

🔥 RETURN TO GOD

Biblical repentance isn't simply feeling bad about what we've done.

It is turning around.

It is leaving the path that leads us away from God and returning to Him.

Return to Me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts.
— Malachi 3:7

✝️ REMEMBER OUR ATONEMENT

The Days of Awe lead toward Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

For Christians, this should immediately point our hearts to Jesus. We don't have to earn forgiveness through our own works. Jesus is our atonement. His sacrifice made the way for us to be reconciled to God.

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
— Romans 5:8

👑 REMEMBER WHO IS KING

The sound of the shofar also reminds us of God's kingship. He is not simply part of our lives. He is Lord.

So as we move through these days, perhaps the question isn't simply, what do I want to change this year, but...

God, what do YOU want to change in me?

📯 Let the trumpet wake us up.

Wake us up from complacency.
Wake us up from compromise.
Wake us up from spiritual distraction.
Wake us up to repentance.
Wake us up to holiness.
Wake us up to the presence of God.

And above all

Wake us up to the hope that Jesus is coming again.

Behold, I am coming soon.
— Revelation 22:12

Live awake.
Live ready.
Live surrendered.
Live like the King is coming.

📯 THE SOUND OF THE SHOFAR IS A CALL TO WAKE UP. 🇮🇱

A new year is beginning. What will I do differently? How will I walk with God?

At sundown today, Rosh Hashanah 5787 begins, the Jewish New Year and the beginning of the Days of Awe, a season of reflection, repentance, and returning to God.

You may be wondering: What is Rosh Hashanah, and what does it mean for us as Christians?

In Leviticus 23, God gives His people His appointed feasts, annual times set apart to remember and honor Him and His plan. While Christians do not observe these days as a means of earning righteousness or fulfilling a requirement for salvation, they can still be meaningful opportunities to reflect on God's Word, remember His faithfulness, and consider what He is teaching us.

This day is Yom Teruah, often translated as the Day of Trumpets or Day of Blowing.

At the heart of the traditional observance is the shofar, a ram's horn. Its sound is intended to awaken the soul, to remember God, examine our hearts, repent, recognize His kingship, and return to Him.

There is something powerful about that picture.

The shofar is a wake up call.

Pay attention.
Remember God.
Examine your heart.
Return to Him.
Prepare yourself.

Rosh Hashanah also marks the beginning of the Hebrew year 5787, but the significance is deeper than simply turning the page on a calendar.

It reminds us that God is King.

The shofar declares His sovereignty and calls us to consider how we are living in light of who He is.

And that message should resonate deeply with followers of Jesus.

Rosh Hashanah begins a season of reflection that leads toward Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. For Christians, this imagery points our hearts toward the ultimate fulfillment we find in Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice provides the way for reconciliation with God.

And then there is the trumpet.

Scripture tells us that one day the trumpet will sound. The dead will be raised, Christ will return, and God's Kingdom will be fully revealed.

So perhaps the message for us today is simple:

WAKE UP.

Don't become spiritually numb.
Don't drift from God.
Don't take tomorrow for granted.

Return to the Lord. Seek Him. Walk in obedience. Keep your heart ready.

Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming soon.”
— Revelation 22:12

As we recognize this biblical season, may it remind us that our hope is in Jesus, the King who came, the King who is coming again, and the King whose Kingdom will never end.

May we live awake.
May we live ready.
May we live faithfully.
May we live as citizens of the heavenly kingdom.

🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11 — WE REMEMBER.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001, the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of the first responders, firefighters, police officers, military members, and ordinary people who stepped forward when others were hurting.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken and the countless families who continue to carry that loss.

But today, we also remember where our hope is found.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. — Psalm 34:18

May we never forget.
May we never take our freedom, our families, or our communities for granted.
And may we continue to pray for those who still carry the wounds of that day.

We remember. We honor. We pray. 🇺🇸

“Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God.” — Exodus 20:9–10

Today, take time to rest, recharge, enjoy your family, and thank God for His provision.
