Good morning, United In Christ UMC family!

September is a month of meetings as we prepare for our upcoming Annual Conference on October 18. For those of you who are on committees, please note the dates and the times for your respective committee.

Please also note that on Friday, September 4 there will be no Adult Bible Study due to Labor Day weekend. We are also looking to get the Men's Group going again for the first Saturday of each month at 9AM at Bray Rd. Diner beginning in October.

As we kick off this Fall season, please keep track of the announcements and dates moving forward as there will be a lot happening starting with our Annual Harvest Dinner on Saturday, September 12th from 4:30-6PM. This is a drive-thru or eat in dinner. Suggested donation of $12 per meal.

Good morning, United In Christ UMC Family & Surrounding Community,

We had a very successful rummage sale this past weekend taking in $3,100 through this annual fundraiser! This morning, Volunteers For America came with a truck to pick up much of what was left over as donations. However, there are still many items left in the pavilion.

We are inviting anyone and everyone, whether members of our church or anyone from the community to swing by over this next week to rummage through the remaining items. If there is anything that looks interesting or that you could use, please take it! We are no longer collecting money for the rummage sale. However, if you do find something that you like and would like to contribute, you are free to do so. Please make any checks or money orders out to UNITED IN CHRIST UMC. Again, we are not asking for any further donations.

Praise break. We're in August, the dog days of summer. Many have already taken their big summer vacations and, before Fall activities ramp up, this can be among the slowest times of year. What better time to take a praise break?

This week I am going to be teaching you a "new" but old song - "My Life Flows On (How Can I Keep From Singing)". This song was written back in 1868 by a Baptist pastor by the name of Robert Lowry and can be found in our little black songbook, The Faith We Sing, on page 2212. In this video I end with the song. Below are the lyrics. I invite you to take some time this week to learn this song.
