Brookdale Senior Living Update
A fire broke out at Brookdale Senior Living around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21. In response, our Clinton community came together to support the residents by providing much-needed supplies and assistance. As of Thursday morning, all residents have been relocated.
What You Can Do?
Clinton Methodist Church is collecting the following items for 19 displaced Brookdale residents TODAY ONLY:
L, XL, 2XL Sweatpants, sweatshirts and pajamas
3XL Adult Pull Ups
socks
If you have anything to donate, items can be dropped off TODAY at Clinton Methodist Church, located at 100 Mt Salus Road, from 8am-4pm.
Please continue to keep the residents, their families, and everyone affected by this incident in your prayers. As a church, we will remain in contact with our community partners and look for opportunities to serve as additional needs arise. We are grateful for the compassion and generosity our community has shown during this time.
And as we act and serve, may we pray together:
Loving God, even in the midst of turmoil we know you are present with us. We pray for your presence particularly to be felt among the family and friends of the two individuals who lost their lives in this fire. For residents who are confused and in unfamiliar places we pray for their peace, and for those assisting them to overflow with compassion and understanding. Thank you for the first responders. Keep them and guard them in this aftermath. Thank you for the Brookdale employees who cared for the residents; help them to process what has happened. And may our community continue to search for ways to serve and comfort in these days. May we be Christ’s hand and feet, mobilized by His heart and love. Amen.
