Dorothy Gould, lovingly referred to by all as “Grammy,” passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4th, 2026 at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton, Massachusetts, surrounded by family reflecting the deep love she generously shared with others throughout her life.

Family was everything to Grammy. She was a devoted spouse, parent, grandparent, and great- grandparent. She cherished summers at the camp, learning new things, and found great joy in teaching others. An accomplished artist, her favorite mediums were painting and enameling, and she earned numerous awards in local art shows. At the age of 90, she even taught herself Hebrew. With unwavering strength and love, she cared for her late husband and son during their respective illnesses, put herself through graduate school, began teaching art within the community, and ultimately opened her own art studio. Grammy was known for her loving heart, positive outlook, and vibrant spirit. She gifted us 103 years filled with love, beauty, wisdom, patience, gratitude, and countless lessons. She taught us so much about life, love, and caring for others. She taught us to appreciate life’s simple joys, the warmth of sunshine, the colors of fall leaves and blooming flowers, the music of birdsong, and the wonder of all of G-d’s creatures. Grammy was always ready with a piece of chocolate, Hershey bars or Silver Tops, or her famous chocolate chip cookies. She deeply loved her little Shul, Congregation Shaarei Zedeck, and lived her life guided by the teachings of the Torah. She showed us by her example how to do the same. Grammy reminded us that every day held beauty and encouraged us to seek light even in difficult times. She will forever remain our guiding light, our ray of sunshine.

Grammy is survived by her beloved children, Sally and her husband, Kit Narodick, of Seattle, WA; Sherrill and her husband, Domenic of Littleton; Albert and his wife, Karen, of Lancaster; Jack and his wife, Diana, of Sharon; and Charles and his wife, Nancy, of Sudbury. Family was Grammy’s greatest joy, and nothing made her happier than hearing about the lives of her eighteen precious grandchildren, Lisa, Philip, Samatha, Melyssa, Nadine, Travis, Vanessa, Ben, Sam, Hannah, Emma, Kayla, Noah, Jessica, Stephanie, Michael, Monique, and Tiana. Grammy also kvelled endlessly over her twenty great-grandchildren, Eli, Meira, Gabe, Zoe, Avery, Amayah, Stetson, Lukas, Jenna, Charlotte, Baylen, Fira, Mia, Elana, Zachary, Leora, Harper, Landon, Oshri, and Zohara.

Grammy was predeceased by her husband, the Honorable Morris N. Gould; her son, Harvey Mitchell Gould; her lifelong best friend and sister-in-law, Rose, and her husband, George Gould; her sister-in-law, Sana, and her husband David Gould; her parents, Anna and Jacob; and her sisters and brothers. We can envision Grammy reunited with Auntie Rose, at the lake cottage, sipping a cup of tea on chaise lounge chairs, and sharing family news once again.

Grammy’s influence will continue for generations as she lives on in all of us. May Grammy’s memory forever be for a blessing.

The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, January 7th at 10 a.m. at Congregation Shaarei Zedeck, 105 Water Street, Clinton, Massachusetts. Followed by the burial ceremony immediately following the funeral service, at the Worcester Hebrew Cemetery at 78 Havana Road, Leicester (Worcester), MA.

The family will be sitting Shiva on Thursday, January 8th at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Sherrill Gould, 80 Tahattawan Road, Littleton, MA; Friday, January 9th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home Jack and Diana Gould, 37 Cape Club Drive, Sharon, MA; and Saturday, January 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Karen and Albert Gould, 20 Fire Road 10, Lancaster, MA.

Donations in Memory of Dorothy Gould can be made to Congregation Shaarei Zedeck, c/o Atty. Sherrill R.Gould, Treasurer, 105 Water Street, Clinton, MA 01510 or venmo -Gould.

Alexander Matvei Kaminsky
Anschel ben Mordechai
ימרדכ בן אנשיל
January 25, 1937 – October 18, 2025

Alexander Kaminsky, age 88, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Born in Ukraine in 1937, "Sasha" survived Operation Barbarosa in World War Two with his mother by relocating with the factories to Siberia.

Following the war, Sasha had a long career in ship engineering at the Nikolaev shipworks until the fall of the Soviet Union. He was always an exceptional student and a true professional. He got his PhD in Mechanical Engineering and was a group leader at his company

He eventually moved to Israel on Birthright, where he worked his way from building maintenance to owning several patents in renewable energy.

In the final part of his life, Alexander moved to America to be with his family and continued his work in renewables at Central Michigan University. He was known for his kind words, impeccable memory, and his ability to discuss anything around the table. His last chapter was spent in Holden, watching his younger grandsons grow up.

One can say that Alexander lived three lives, so disparate his lifestyles were in Soviet Union, Israel, and in the United States. He returned to his Jewish t***s right before he moved to Israel and took his religious calling very seriously, which led him to live in many places connected to the Jewish history and involve wholeheartedly with his religious community.

When he moved to America, he continued his scientific pursuits while also creating deep and lasting connections with his three grandsons.

Alex was loved by everybody in any community he was a part of, and even in his last days he was loved by all the staff at Oriol Rehab.

Sasha is survived by his wife Evgenia, his son and daughter-in-law George and Nadia Kaminski, his three grandsons Alexander, Daniel, and Jacob, and his great-granddaughter Olivia.

He was buried in a small Jewish ceremony at Grove Cemetery in Holden on October 24th, 2025, attended by members of his family and synagogue and neighbors.

“The Little Shul That Could” – Shaarei Zedeck New Year Poem
Credit to Bill Reisner

Happy New Year, Shaarei Zedeckers dear,
We’ve made it through another High Holiday year!
By conversations with congregants we’re renewing,
Most called our worship “very nice and spiritually renewing.”

It warmed every heart to see friends old and new,
Our circle expanded, our welcome grew.
Kol Nidre shone bright with Liz Sparennella’s art,
Then Amy and Bert Gould carried the part.

On Thursday we gathered with prayers and with song,
Torah and Haftorahs to carry along —
Thank you to all who led verses and tunes,
Who lifted our voices like bright autumn moons.

Sherry, your martyrology softened the night,
A tender remembrance, a guiding light.
Emma, your Shofar rose clear and strong,
A call to return and to right every wrong.

Thanks to the Reisners who kept up the way,
On the Bimah through Niela’s closing of day.
Rabbinic student Josh Mandel led with care,
And Mayla — back in Clinton after all these years — lit the air.

Dear Loni, coordinating threads seen and unseen,
You stitched all the moments to hold what they mean.
Then came the break-fast, so loving, so bright —
Thank you, David Feinberg, Tina Wells, Cheryl Pouliot, for the night.

To everyone bringing a dish or a hand,
Your kindness made blessing bloom across our land.
Apologies to anyone whose name we didn’t say;
The whole congregation made holiness today.

Now comes Sukkot, our harvest of gold,
With joy for the young and comfort for old.
On Sunday the Sukka was raised to the blue,
By Marty Reisner, Lester, Amy and Rebecca Gould too.
This Saturday at 9:00 a.m., come pray and sing —

Hebrew School children will decorate and bring
Bright color and garlands to gladden the sight,
And Oneg in the Sukka to crown it with light.

Then Sunday the 12th, at 10:00 a.m. we’ll meet,
A potluck Sukkot brunch with friendship sweet.
We’ll shake the Lulav and Etrog with cheer,
And gather our blessings for the coming year.

All are welcome — come share this harvest holiday,
In Clinton’s little Shul where love lights the way.
For Shaarei Zedeck — still brave, still good —
Forever the Little Shul That Could.

Silent Birthday Fundraiser: For my Birthday I ask that you donate to help the families of the hostages still held in Gaza. These families had their lives turned upside down. We are just shy of a year later and the families still do not know if they will ever see their loved ones again.

This is a silent fundraiser, so I am not posting amounts and you do not need to tell me how much you donated, or even if you donated. Feel free to share this to spread the word.

You can make a direct donation at https://stories.bringthemhomenow.net/donate or you can order donation items from their store.

Support our mission to bring hostages home. Donate now to aid diplomatic efforts, media campaigns, and provide direct family support.
