Take time to step back in silence and reflect on your faith journey, remember we weren’t meant to carry the heaviness alone….

Ash Wednesday comes quietly into a world filled with noise, hardship, danger and turmoil.

In the midst of uncertainty, suffering, and burdens we carry in silence, we are reminded to pause… to look deeper… to return to what truly matters.

This Lenten season is an invitation to reflect not only on our fragility, but on the Cross. He carried it so we would not have to carry life alone.

He entered our suffering so that our suffering could be offered, redeemed, and made meaningful in Him.

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

In our weakness, we find humility.
In humility, we find grace.
And in grace, we find Christ.

We have the ability to practice hospitality.

When I was a child, a family trip to my godparents’ house for the weekend was always a treat. My family lived in a crowded suburb, so the retreat to their very small town was an opportunity to explore freely and greet everyone openly. The house itself was 100 years old, and the rooms seemed h...

What a wonderful day at the Christmas program in Clinton. It was great to spend time and visit with the kids. So grateful for the connection with our dear friends from New Horizon UMC. It was so special to have Jim and Linda Bradford who traveled from Tulsa to join us as well as Bart and Denise Mravinec from Russell KS. Thc Clinton ministry has an incredible relationship with New Horizon church. My heart was filled with joy spending time with the children and youth.
A big thank you to Martheia Niedo for the yummy corn soup and frybread.

Not just today but every day our children matter.

Not just today but every day our children matter.

Today we wear orange not as a fashion, but as a prayer, as remembrance, as a stand for truth. Each shirt we put on carries the voices of our children — awâsisak — who were taken from their homes, stripped of their language, and made to feel small in places that were supposed to teach but instead inflicted silence and pain.

The color orange carries the story of one little girl who had her shirt taken away at a residential school, and with it, her sense of worth. Today, that orange is reclaimed as a banner of love, resilience, and survival.

When we wear orange, we say: every child matters. We honor those who never came home, we lift prayers for their families, and we walk with the survivors whose hearts still carry those memories. This is not just a day of sorrow, but of strength — because our languages are still spoken, our drums still sound, and our children are still here, laughing, growing, carrying forward the fire.

So let us wear orange with intention. Let it remind us that healing is not only for Indigenous Peoples, but for all of us together, as one human family. Every shirt is a promise: that we will not forget, that we will not let silence win, and that we will walk forward in kinship — wâhkôhtowin — to build a future where all children are cherished.
