First Presbyterian Church - Clinton, SC

First Presbyterian Church - Clinton, SC Welcome to First Presbyterian Church. Come worship with us!
Our congregation celebrated its 156th birthday in 2011.

First Presbyterian Church is a congregation of about 400 members who strive faithfully to worship God with integrity, educate God's people with creativity, make Christ's grace known in the community with practical expressions of care, and honor God generously by giving the best we have to offer of our time, our talents, and our treasure. Since its birth, First Presbyterian has been an active churc

h, serving as the mother church of the Thornwell Home for Children and Presbyterian College. There are a variety of ways for people of all ages to grow in their faith and thrive spiritually at First P. God's love in Jesus Christ defines who we are, and we strive to enjoy that love, embody that love, and share that love as Christ's disciples for this day and time. We invite you to join us in helping make our congregation the kind of church God is dreaming of. The body of Christ is not complete without you

Many people, due to grief, have difficulty during the holiday season. Blue Christmas, (also called the Longest Night) in the Western Christian tradition, is a day in the Advent season marking the longest night of the year. On this day, some churches in Western Christian denominations hold a church service that honors people that have lost loved ones and are experiencing grief. All are welcome and invited to join us on Thursday, December 19th at 6:30 p.m. for this meaningful service of worship which offers hope and healing for those who are grieving.

REOPENING CEREMONY: Please join us at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, for an intentional walk through campus to reflect on our losses and give thanks for what remains. We’ll begin at the PC sign and walk together to Neville and ring our historic bell to ceremonially reopen the college. We’ll then walk to the Celtic Cross at Piephoff Outdoor Chapel to reflect on our hopes for the future.

The ceremony will be lead by representatives from Academic Affairs, JEDI, Spiritual Life, Student Affairs, and SGA. All are welcome to join us for the event in its entirety or to meet at the particular location for portions of the event.
