Prayer Warriors! Psalm 5 is a morning prayer for direction, protection, and favor. This prayer is especially timely because our children are influenced not only by people, but also by social media, group chats, AI, and online voices. We are asking God to guard their discernment, character, relationships, and joy.

Father, we lift our children and the generations after them to You. Let their first thoughts rise to You. Lead them in righteousness and make Your way straight before them. Guide their choices, guard their words, and keep them honest.

Protect them from wrong influences and the temptation to bend the truth. Guard the company they keep. Untangle difficult places and make their paths clear. Let them take refuge in You, rejoice because You defend them, and find joy in Your name. Surround them with Your favor as with a shield. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

“Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

We are called to pray. Father, we pray for Your loving discipline. We lift up our children and the generations after them. When they wander, correct and redirect them like a Good Shepherd. Expose wrong influences, break unhealthy patterns, and turn their hearts away from paths outside Your will. Show them the way, so they can walk in it.

Remind them Your correction is not rejection, but formation and evidence of Your faithful love. Protect their future, redeem consequences, heal wounds, and preserve purpose. Watch over their coming and going. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

“Because the Lord disciplines the one he loves.” Hebrews 12:6

P.S. God’s discipline is training, correction and formation. It can be painful to experience and to watch, but be encouraged. Its purpose is restoration and spiritual maturity, producing “a harvest of righteousness and peace.”
