A church is not a building, even though ours are a blessing and beautiful ⛪️✝️⛪️  A church is people – God‘s people drawn together in faith, love, and commitment to follow Christ. It is said that Christians will be known by our love. 

Love takes many forms, from the smallest gesture of kindness to the greatest act of philanthropy.  Christian love is rooted in humility, sacrifice, and service. Every single day there are many people who perform unseen tasks to bless others. Every single day there are people who prioritize their commitment to God by serving through their church—on this campus and beyond.

I am mindful of the meetings that were held today that no one else will ever know happened, but others will reap the benefits from. I am mindful of the choir members who are giving of their time to rehearse as I type this and will help usher God’s people in worship on Sunday mornings❤️✝️❤️  I am thinking of volunteers who show up on a regular basis to help out whether to clean up behind the rest of us or to prepare events that bless us🎉✝️🎉

Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church has many loving people, and I am a blessed and proud pastor🥰✝️🥰

Our Mission & Outreach Ministry supports many beautiful endeavors🎉❤️✝️❤️🎉 JUMPSTART at Sampson Correctional Institute is now the blessed recipient of graduation regalia. Several showed up yesterday to begin steaming 40 gowns, and we are so grateful🎉🥰🎉

Today, Allison Brock showed up quietly to finish steaming and organizing the 20 that remained🥰 She not only hung them all, she figured out a way to bag the caps and tassels and attach them to respective hangers. Thank you, Allison🥰

So GRATEFUL for GMPC’s Mission and Outreach Ministry’s support for Sampson Correctional’s JUMPSTART program🎉

This 40 week program takes men through Rick Warren’s “Purpose Driven Life” along with Christian character development🙏❤️✝️❤️🙏

Pastor Katie and Ollie have been humbled to work alongside amazing volunteers and the men who have committed to the program. Graduation will be June 11th, and our church purchased graduation regalia. These sweet ladies are painstakingly steaming and pressing the gowns so the men will look their best🎉 (Check out Matthew 25🙏✝️🙏)
