Today was full of excitement, but also tested our perseverance and flexibility. Being our last full day in West Virginia, we had a busy day planned, but God had other plans for us. After a delicious pancake breakfast, we headed back over to Julius and Ginny's house to finish up their deck and step repairs. Once finished, we visited the local pizza place for lunch, where we taste tested their Dill Pickle Pizza which everyone we've met has told us that we HAVE to try.
We then headed over to Nancy's house to repair her back steps. About half way through, the skies opened up. We tried to wait it out a little while, but ended up just finishing in the rain. ⛈️
At that point, our afternoon plans of finding the locals secret swimming hole and joining the town co****le and horseshoes competition were a bust, so we headed back to the church for dinner with Julius, Ginny, Brandon, and his wife. We were hoping to have some ice cream for dessert, but the local ice cream shop closed early due to a leak from all the rain. 😭
We returned to the church feeling a little defeated, but ended the night with ding-dongs and games.
We are sad to be leaving tomorrow as we have enjoyed this beautiful town and it's kind-hearted residents, and have made some good friends, but we look forward to returning home and sharing our stories.
