Do you plan ahead?
Most people do, we plan out what we want for dinner throughout the week, and we plan our vacations to make sure we have all the things that we need to take with us and pack accordingly. We think ahead by having good auto and or home insurance just in case something happens to either of those valuable items. We think ahead and plan for our passing by getting burial insurance so that the cost is taken care of when that day comes. We have these coverages because we really do not have any idea when they will be needed, no idea at all. The most precious and important thing we have is our soul, and for the most part, people really ignore the importance of having that covered for the day when we are taken away, and, we again have absolutely no idea what year, month, day, or hour that will happen. So why is the preparation for that not given the attention and efforts to ensure its protection and having the cost covered?
The Bible does give us an explanation of events that lead up to the end and outside of many events worldwide both climate, political, spiritual, and culturally that will take place prior to an event mentioned by Paul in I Thessalonians 4:13-18, (The Rapture), which is followed by the Tribulation.
The timing of the rapture in relation to the tribulation is one of the most controversial issues in the church today. There are three views on this subject and they are listed as pre-tribulational (the rapture occurs before the tribulation) mid-tribulational (the rapture occurs at or near the mid-point of the tribulation), and the post-tribulational (the rapture occurs at the end of the tribulation). A fourth view known as pre-wrath is a slight modification of the mid-tribulational position.
I Thessalonians 4: 13-18, states that all living believers, along with all believers who have died, will meet with Lord Jesus in the air, and will be with Him forever. The rapture is God's way of removing His people from the earth.
I believe in the pre-tribulational view and without spending quite a bit of time on the three different discussions, I will say this. The tribulation is a time when God will pour out His wrath on earth, Daniel 9:20-27. Paul states in I Thessalonians 5:9 "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath, but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." The book of Revelation clearly explains the time period of the tribulation, of how God will pour out His wrath upon the earth during the tribulation. I follow the pre-understanding because why would He promise believers that they will not suffer through the wrath of the tribulation and then leave them on the earth to then suffer through the tribulation?
There is much more to cover on this subject, and I pray that you study this further. These events are going to happen, we just do not know the day or hour, be prepared, get the coverage you need, get a relationship with Jesus Christ, and study the letters he has given us. This is the best insurance policy you could ever get and it doesn't cost you one penny.

Promise of Hell
“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue because I am in agony in this fire.” Luke 16:22-24

The promise of hell is not fun to talk about but is a somber reality relayed by our Savior Jesus. He is our Savior because He saves us from our sins and from eternal damnation in hell. Hell brings separation—Jesus brings reconciliation. Hell brings torment—Jesus brings peace. Hell brings darkness—Jesus brings light. Hell hurts—Heaven heals.

Our same loving Lord who promises heaven, also promises hell. Indeed, heaven is sweeter, because of the sour taste eternal separation from God leaves on the lips of our souls. We begin our experience of hell on earth when we choose our own way, in contrast to Christ’s way. Separation on earth from God is a precursor to separation from the Almighty in eternity. It is a fearful place of loneliness that lacks love and security.

“But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has the power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!” Luke 12:5

It is the fear of the Lord that brings focus to His holiness and our unholy condition outside of Christ. You may experience the wrath of men because you chose to fear God. But, better to be known as a God-fearing man or woman than to experience the wrath of God. The power of man looks powerless in the presence of the One who has the power to cast the unsaved into hell. Sinners in the hands of a holy God desperately need His grace.

So, you and I are blessed to have the opportunity to appropriate belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God. He not only saves us from hell, but He saves us from our sins, and from ourselves. By His sacrificial love, He replaces eternity in an unrighteous hell with a righteous heaven. Yes, you can repent on your deathbed, but why not start heaven’s journey now? Hell’s fury is for the faithless, but when you walk by faith, you have only the Lord to fear.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2

Lord, how can I grow in my gratitude to You that there is no condemnation in Christ?

Many have lost sight of the beginning of this great nation, and have distorted the original concept of what was done to form our government. We have been told that the country has been historically a racist country, how far from the truth can this be. The moral guide for America has always been rooted in a faith in God and His laws. No man is perfect and yes there has and is prejudice feelings on both sides of the race issue, neither is correct. There has been quite a bit of talk about the constitution lately and some are trying to destroy it. The first piece of contract to form a government by the people, to put roots down for the foundation to build a government by the people, for the people and governed by the people.

Facts about the Mayflower Compact

Mayflower Compact – What is it?
The Mayflower Compact is a written agreement composed by a consensus of the new Settlers arriving at New Plymouth in November of 1620. They had traveled across the ocean on the ship Mayflower which was anchored in what is now Provincetown Harbor near Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The Mayflower Compact was drawn up with fair and equal laws, for the general good of the settlement and with the will of the majority. The Mayflower’s passengers knew that the New World’s earlier settlers failed due to a lack of government. They hashed out the content and eventually composed the Compact for the sake of their own survival.

All 41 of the adult male members on the Mayflower signed the Compact. Being the first written laws for the new land, the Compact determined authority within the settlement and was the observed as such until 1691. This established that the colony (mostly persecuted Separatists), was to be free of English law. It was devised to set up a government from within themselves and was written by those to be governed.
Mayflower Compact – What did it say?
The original document is said to have been lost, but the writings of William Bradford’s journal Of Plymouth Plantation and in Edward Winslow’s Mourt’s Relation: A Journal of the Pilgrims at Plymouth are in agreement and accepted as accurate. The Mayflower Compact reads:

"In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord, King James, by the Grace of God, of England, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, e&. Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents, solemnly and mutually in the Presence of God and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid; And by Virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the General good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In Witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the eleventh of November, in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord, King James of England, France and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini, 1620."
Mayflower Compact – Who signed it and why?
One of the first lists of the Mayflower Compact’s signers was provided by William Bradford’s nephew, Nathaniel Morton. The names are published in his 1669 New England’s Memorial. They are also posted by the Avalon Project of Yale University. Some of the more familiar names includes are those such as: John Carver, William Bradford, Edward Winslow, William Brewster, Isaac Allerton, Myles Standish, and John Alden.

When creating the Mayflower Compact, the signers believed that covenants were not only to be honored between God and man, but also between each other. They had always honored covenants as part of their righteous integrity and agreed to be bound by this same principle with the Compact. John Adams and many historians have referred to the Mayflower Compact as the foundation of the U.S. Constitution written more than 150 later.

America was indeed begun by men who honored God and set their founding principles by the words of the Bible. They lived their lives with honesty, reliability, and fairness toward establishing this country “for the sake of its survival.” A great many of America’s Founding Fathers have been quoted in regard to living by Biblical values.

Edmund Burke (1729-1794), outstanding orator, author, and leader in Great Britain, defended the colonies in Parliament. "There is but one law for all, namely, that law which governs all law, the law of our Creator."

Patrick Henry (1736-1799), five-time Governor of Virginia, whose "Give me liberty or give me death" speech has made him immortal, said: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly, nor too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. . . ."

Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), third U.S. President, chosen to write the Declaration of Independence, said: "I have little doubt that the whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our Creator, and, I hope, to the pure doctrines of Jesus also." He proclaimed that it was the God of the Bible who founded America in his 1805 inaugural address: "I shall need, too, the favor of that Being in whose hands we are, who led our forefathers, as Israel of old, from their native land and planted them in this country."
The 'dread sovereign' referred to in the document used the archaic definition of dread—meaning awe and reverence (for the King), not fear. Also, as noted above, the document was signed under the Old Style Julian calendar, since England did not adopt the Gregorian calendar until 1752. The Gregorian date would be November 21.

Darkness prevails:
If you take a sheet of plywood and lay in your yard and leave it there for some time, things start to happen underneath it. First, the grass and vegetation will eventually die off, moisture will form that will then breed fungus and other bacteria. When you lift the sheet of plywood up from laying flat on the ground, what happens? You will see all types of bugs and insects start to scurry out of the light that you just exposed them to, and they are looking for some more darkness to hide in. If you leave the plywood off the spot where it was lying, you will see a return of the plant life to the place where there was darkness. We know that this will not happen immediately but, if you leave that area open and exposed to the light you will see a rebirth of life there again.
We, humans, are the same way. When we are in the light we can see our way, we feel better, the sun’s rays help heel us and keep us strong. When we are in darkness, we can’t see, and we feel depressed. This is the physical darkness.
If you are in a dark room, how do you stop the darkness? You turn on a light, if you are in a well-lit room how do you stop that, you turn off the light. Not the other way around. Darkness cannot overtake light unless the light is removed.
In scriptures, Jesus is the light, the light that exposes the darkness in the world. We are witnessing the darkness permeate across the globe today, exactly how and why is this happening?
In the Bible we know the story of Moses, and his conflict with Pharaoh. Pharaoh did not believe in the God of Moses, even when he witnessed the great powers God had, now, he finally conceded to release Israel, but his heart was hardened due to his separation from Gods presence. Both the pharaoh and the people of Egypt suffered the consequences of denying God and his existence, they were in darkness.
Today this same thing is happening. Paul wrote in Romans what is happening in Romans 1:24-25. Therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Vs.28-32. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up “to a debased mind to do” what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness, They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know Gods righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Do you see where darkness has started to cover the world? People are lost, with no direction towards light. As the scriptures say clearly that those that have no room for Christ in their lives, those that make no attempt at having a relationship with Him, even though He has shown himself to us, by leaving yourself open to other persuasions, Satan will and does move in and works very hard to stop us from being exposed to God. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
The god of this world is not God the Creator, its reference to Satan that prowls the earth to deceive, distract, discourage, debunk and defeat anything that God has. Satan will and does blind people from the truth and the truth is light, light from God. Turn on the light in your life and get rid of the darkness, the light that is found in Jesus Christ. Amen
