Please remember Paula Sykes and her family!! Their sweet momma and our sweet Rose finished her Journey here!!
Rosa Marie Mullins, age 87, of Dickenson County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by her deep faith and boundless love for her children & family.
Rosa truly loved the Lord and lived her faith daily. When Dementia took away her memories and health, she never lost faith in the Lord; she called on him daily for strength and peace. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she cherished every moment spent stepping into her favorite roles as a mother, Mother-in-law, Mamaw, Granny, and Great-Granny. An energetic and creative soul, Rosa loved flowers, crocheting, cooking, square dancing, and being on the go! She filled her home with faith, love, and warmth, always making time for the family and friends who meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ora Hayes; her siblings, Vernon Hayes, C.P. (Rose) Hayes, Anna (Joe Bill) Rowe, Ronald Hayes, Jimmy Hayes, and Peggy Turner; her son, Danny Keene; her stepdaughter, Carolyn Dotson; her stepson, Hugh Mullins; her granddaughter, Chloie Grace Sykes; and her grandson, Sam Ramsey.
Her beautiful legacy lives on through her surviving family, including her children:
Larry (Donna) Keene of Midland, TX
Sheila (Randy) Looney of Bristol, VA
Darla (Gerald) All of Waynesboro, VA
Paula (Keith) Sykes of Clintwood, VA
Hatler (Mindy) Mullins Jr. of Abingdon, VA
Son-in-law: Richard Dotson of Radford, VA
Brother-in-law: Glen Turner of Wakeman, OH
Sister-in-law: Lola Jean Hayes of NM
