Today, we gathered to celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of our Camp Director, Hector Pérez. The day was filled with tears, laughter, heartfelt reflections, and above all, Christ-centered hope as we remembered the impact of Hector’s “dash”—his deeply faithful life journey.

Lake Whitney Ranch is profoundly blessed to be part of his story. His legacy will forever live on through everything we do here. As we move forward, we honor the charge given to us by his lovely daughter: to water the seeds that Héctor sowed.

We find peace in knowing we will one day reunite with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in Jesus. We hold onto the certain truth that we will see Hector there.

Please join us in continued prayer for Anabel and her family, as well as Hector’s sisters and their families during this time.

Thank you to the Keene Church and their Pastoral staff for allowing space for our staff and summer camp families to gather.

If you are in the area, come join us as we seek the Lord together. Stay for a while or for a moment. We are here for you.

In light of the heaviness many in our community and conference are carrying—the loss of beloved Lake Whitney Ranch director Hector Perez, along with the many recent losses within our own church family—the Keene Church Sanctuary will be open this Sabbath, August 15, from 6–8 PM as a quiet space for prayer, reflection, and remembrance.

Scripture and soft music will fill the sanctuary, and our pastors and staff will be available for anyone who would like prayer or simply someone to talk with. Come and go as you need, whether you stay for a few moments or spend the evening with us.

In seasons of grief, we don’t have to carry the weight alone. All are welcome.
