We are open today. We have videos playing today. One tells the story of Minnie Beckwith a Fairfax County Public Schools teacher who retired from teaching in 1937. We have another video on Inequality in Education in Clifton as well as slide shows of historic photos.

On this Christmas Day we remember this beautiful little church’s history. We remember the founders, most of whom began life enslaved. We recognize the effort required to build the church. In the coming year we will hopefully be able to gather together to continue our preservation efforts, more foundation work, painting etc. We have an obligation to continue it’s legacy! I hope you all can join us in this effort. Peace and Joy to you all.

The Art Guild of Clifton is offering $750 scholarships to talented seniors exploring a college level curricula in the visual and performing arts including literature, music, and film. Application and details are available to download from our web site artguildofclifton.org

With schools closed, students may not get this communication from their guidance counselors. Please help us to get widest publication of this vital information making our students aware of their scholarship opportunities.

I want to thank the volunteers who helped us install a French drain around the church this weekend. We have a little bit of cleanup left which we will be finished when the weather cooperates. Thanks to Charlotte for bringing so many friends to help. Thanks to Anthony, who came from Manassas and did all the grunt work.
