During Grace Out Loud worship last night Pastor Justin preached about the differences between "Costly" and "Cheap" grace.

Here is an excerpt from that message:

"The cross is costly because love is costly. Real love always requires something of us. Parents lose sleep caring for children. Friends visit special members and bring them Communion. Caregivers sacrifice time and energy for someone else’s healing. Churches are called to pour themselves out for the lonely, the grieving, the hungry, and the forgotten. Disciples make time for God first, not only after everything else gets attention first.

Whenever love becomes real, sacrifice appears nearby. That is why discipleship can never remain abstract. We are called to live an ethic of costly grace, a willingness to put Christ above ourselves"
