Prayer is the best answer for all the needs of life. Not just for salvation through faith, but prayer is the answer for our church. We need to pray for one another. Now, prayer, it’s thoughtful. There’s a purpose in prayer. Prayer has an intent to it. Prayer has a direction. Prayer is doing something. It’s active. It’s action. When you pray, you’re focused on something- someone. Sometimes we’re so broad-based- “Oh, Lord, please bless the universe”…. Prayer ought to be fine-tuned to that thing that somebody needs. Prayer requires you to think. It will challenge you. You need to be aware of what’s going on…. What’s needed? Sometimes everyone’s sick and you’re praying against that. Sometimes people are going through mental pressures, and you’re praying against that. And God steps in when people begin to pray.

God trains us to remain in His word. Because His word really shapes our thinking. It corrects our direction. It puts us right back in place. It teaches us to stay close to Him. So when we keep filling ourselves up with His truth, it builds our faith. It keeps us anchored in the Lord.
