A devotional thought for your Friday...
The world tells us to look out for ourselves, to pursue our own happiness above all else. But Jesus presents a paradox that turns conventional wisdom upside down: those who try to save their lives will lose them, while those who lose their lives for His sake will find true life. This isn't about physical death - it's about the death of self-centered living.
When we stop making every decision based on what benefits us and start asking what honors God, we discover a richness of life we never knew existed.
The person who hoards their time, talents, and treasures for themselves ends up spiritually bankrupt. But the person who gives generously, serves sacrificially, and loves unconditionally finds that their life overflows with meaning and joy. This principle applies to every area - relationships, career, finances, and dreams.
The greatest tragedy isn't failing to achieve our selfish ambitions; it's living an entire life focused only on ourselves and missing the abundant life Christ offers through surrender.
"He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." - Matthew 10:39
