What started out as a rainy Sunday was transformed to a beautiful morning, perfect to get a photo of the Trustees. Reverend Paul Barna was back for his second time. Paul is the lead pastor of The Wesleyan Church in Waterford NY. We were thankful he had time to lead us in worship once again. Paul had us all thinking about what our legacies might be. Will it be a lasting legacy? We are making decisions today that will impact people in the future. What generational blessings will we pass down? With God in our lives we are able to make lasting legacies. Thank you Paul for a moving sermon!
Kristine and Jeremiah Geer, of Fort Edward, sang two beautiful duets. Their voices seem brighter and brighter each year, if that is possible. Kristine has sung in our chapel since she was a young girl with her father, Keith Grriffen. Now Kristine and Jerremiah’s children provide us with their special music. Musical talent certainly runs in their family!
Join us next Sunday to hear Nora and Griff Geer play for us. The service will be led by Chaplain Erik Neider of Saratoga Springs visiting us for the first time. We only have two more services left this summer. We hope you can join us Sunday at 10:00 AM, 360 Cleverdale Road, Cleverdale, NY

Another beautiful summer Sunday at Lakeside Chapel. And the minister brought props!!!

As always, Reverend Dr Bill Levering captivated us with his joyful persona! There is always an enlightening sermon when Bill is present and this Sunday, he had his 5-year-old daughter, (almost 6) Valerie, and their dog, Tia, to help get his message across. It probably wasn’t planned that way but Bill is very quick on his feet. He was able to weave their visit into many parts of the service. By the way, they were both very well behaved! We heard the story of Jesus changing his mind on how he was going to handle a situation. We can all have a change of heart and decide to be more compassionate, more forgiving, towards others. Until next time Bill, thank you for sharing Valerie and Tia with us!

Those present were treated to the Special Music of the beautiful soprano voice of Sabrina LaPointe. We are so fortunate to have the community that we have at Lakeside Chapel. From the trustees to the ministers, soloists, organist, and everyone in between filling the pews, we have a very special place to worship.

Next Sunday, we will have Reverend Paul Barna leading the worship with the Geers, Kristine and Jeremiah, supplying the Special Music. We hope to see you then.

It’s mid-August already!!! We only have 4 more Sunday services left this summer! The chapel’s hydrangeas are at their peak.
Reverend Jason White was back leading Sunday’s service for his fourth summer. It’s always a pleasure to have his perspective. With faith in God, we might all be able to walk on water!

Local singer, Brandon LaRocca played his guitar and sang some great classics for us. They got right to one’s soul. We hope Brandon will join us again.
We have had such diverse Special Music this summer. There has been something for everyone!

Sunday the 16th, Rev Dr Bill Levering will be at the Chapel to lead the service. He is one not to miss!
Sabrina Lapointe will fill the chapel with her lovely voice. Church bells ring at 9:50!

Everyone commented on what a great sermon was delivered at the chapel this Sunday. Reverend Rich Lloyd follows such a great legacy of preaching at Lakeside Chapel. Both his father and Grandfather before him have led summer services at our chapel for over 50 years…each!!! Those are some pretty large shoes to fill, and Rich is very easily filling them. His message about the bible story of the Good Samaritan wasn’t lost on the children who joined Reverend Lloyd for the Children’s Sermon. A couple of them already knew the story. It wasn’t lost on the adults either. Kindness is something we all need to be reminded of from time to time. We look forward to your next 43 years Rich!
Turi Scilipote was another reason for an outstanding service. This was Turi’s 7th year playing his flute for us, and we hope there will be many more. His first piece was Lake George Miniatures, inspired by his friend Joe Clark who wrote them after visiting the lake. A lovely piece by Chopin in E Flat, Nocturne, was Turi’s second selection. Recognizable and beautifully played. It’s always a treat to have such talent in our chapel.
Please join us next Sunday the 9th when Reverend Jason White, of Schenectady, will join us again, and Brandon LaRocca, of Cleverdale will provide the Special Music.
The service starts at 10:00 AM. 360 Cleverdale Road, Cleverdale.

The chapel was packed! Reverend Wes Smith has friends and family in the area and it’s always a pleasure to have them all here on the Sunday of our mid-summer reception. Add the Spring Family Singers and our Sunday is complete. Wes has been coming to Lakeside Chapel for over 40 years. He, and his wife Joyce are like family to us! The Springs have joined forces with Wes in recent years. It’s always a treat to hear what Rosie and her family have in store for music. They have a beautiful harmony of voices! Another thank-you goes to Toni Weeden filling in for our music director. She knows how to jump right in like she has done it many times before. (She has. Toni is the Director of Music at Trinity Lutheran Church is Fair Haven MA.)
Thank you to all who joined us after the service, overlooking the lake. You will notice a lot of familiar faces in the photos of everyone enjoying the refreshments and fellowship of our sweet chapel.
Next week, we welcome Reverend Rich Lloyd of Newport, TN, with special music by Turi Scilipote, of NYC.

We were in luck again on Sunday! Not only was it another beautiful day, but Rev Dr Alan Rudnick, of Manlius, NY, had a message we could all relate to in our own lives. We all need to have time to slow down, to rest, and fill our spiritual beings. Very attainable!! It is always special to have Alan at Lakeside Chapel. Thank you.
Corey Cerullo, of Queensbury, had his Sunday to sing for us, as he has for many summers. He will often sing in German, and on Sunday he sang a German piece about Springtime. His voice easily fills our chapel with his music. Thank you, Corey.
We hope to see both of these longtime supporters again next summer!
Please join us next Sunday the 26th when we celebrate Rev Wesley Smith being here to lead the service, with Rosie Spring and Family singing!!! The celebration doesn’t end there.
There will be an outdoor reception overlooking the lake immediately following the service. Refreshments will be served.
The bell rings at 9:50 AM! Hope to see you there.

What a lovely, comfortable temperature we had in the sanctuary Sunday, at Lakeside Chapel! Our third service of the summer was well attended and led by Reverend Laura Mitchell, of Dunham’s Bay. Her Children’s Sermon was about measuring God’s love. Not possible with the props she brought of measuring cups and tape measure. The theme carried through to Laura’s main sermon. God loves us all, and his love goes wider and deeper, and goes on and on. It’s immeasurable!
Gretchen Judge, of Rochester, NY, celebrated her 25th year playing her violin for us at Lakeside Chapel! We have been so fortunate to have her each summer. We will never tire from her signature piece, “Ashokan Farewell.” There are a few of us who wait all year to hear this special music. Thank you, Gretchen. Here’s to 25 more years!
We hope to see you next Sunday the 19th, when Rev Dr Alan Rudnick will be here. He has been coming to our chapel as long as Gretchen! Corey Cerullo will be singing for us, as he has for many years. We look forward to seeing you then!

Mike Saccocio never disappoints! We look forward each summer, to hearing his message and of the great work of the City Mission in Schenectady, where he is the executive director. We loved Mike’s thought about when difficult events in our lives arise, and seem over whelming, just start with one, first step towards a solution. The rest will follow. Brilliant!
Philip Brink is a very accomplished musician!! His professional experiences have taken him around the world. How fortunate were we to have him play two beautiful pieces for us. One might think a trombone would be too much for our intimate chapel, but it was perfect!!! Philip’s wife accompanied him on the keyboard. It was lovely. Hope we can book him again next summer!
A few words on our Music director…. Tracey Puckhaber came into our lives last summer, fortunately. Originally from Long Island, Tracey and her husband Scott moved up in 2022, with Brady joining their family in December of that year. She has been a board-certified music therapist for over 20 years. She plays piano, organ, guitar, and voice. Tracey works for Nourishing Minds Tutoring as the resident music therapist and administrative coordinator. Through Nourishing Minds, she has launched an early childhood music therapy program called Twinkle Tunes, which is geared toward children 5 and under. Twinkle Tunes has appeared at the Saratoga Children's Museum, Bolton Library, Lake George Library, and coming soon to Hillview Library in Diamond Point. Among all these talents, Lakeside Chapel is pleased to have Tracey as our organist and music director.
Join us this Sunday the 12th, at 10:00 AM, 360 Cleverdale Road, Cleverdale. Reverend Laura Mitchell will lead the service. Gretchen Judge will be here playing her violin, as she does each summer. We look forward to hearing from them both.

What a joy it is to gather once again at Lakeside Chapel for our 2026 summer season! We kicked off our first Sunday service surrounded by wonderful music, including beautiful selections from Cari Kassebaum, accompanied by our organist and Music Director, Tracey Puckhaber. With Cari's incredible range and stunning voice, she continues to be a steadfast supporter of our services, and we look forward to hearing her sing for many years to come.

We were honored to welcome back the Reverend Dr. Vicky Brooks of Schenectady, NY, to lead our service this week. Marking her first time back with us since 2021, she delivered a uplifting and positive message to the congregation that was a great start the season.

Looking ahead to this coming Sunday, our service will be led by Mike Saccocio, who remains a favorite service leader of ours each year.

Nestled on the eastside of Ripley’s Point, in the hamlet of Cleverdale, Lakeside Chapel remains a beautiful place of worship. The grounds are looking absolutely beautiful this summer, and the interior is so warm and welcoming—everything is perfectly ready for the season.

We invite you to join our community every Sunday at 10:00 AM.
