Lakeside Chapel’s summer season ended on a beautiful, cool, Sunday morning. Reverend Kent Busman’s stories were a great way to close out 2025! Although Kent has retired from his longtime position as Executive Director of Camp Fowler in Speculator, NY this year, he reassures us that he will be back to lead one of our services again next summer. Thank you, Kent!

Turi Scilipote was back for his fifth summer treating us to a piece from Lake George Miniatures, written by a friend of Turi’s after visiting Lake George. As Turi played, the music was so clear and beautiful that it seemed to reflect the lake itself. It was especially moving and true to its’ setting.

On behalf of the Trustees, we would like to thank the Lakeside Chapel community for attending this year’s services. We know you all agree that it is a very special place and we will do our best to care for it as we head into our 105th season next summer.

We can’t wait to welcome you all back again starting with our Sunday, June 28th service.

Until then, sending you blessings……

Rev Dr Bill Levering had full attention of the congregation on Sunday. Yes, he read a lot of passages from the Bible, as he warned he would, but the message that followed was one we all needed to hear. Thank you, Bill for opening our hearts and minds a little further. We look forward to hearing from you again soon. And by the way, Bill has a beautiful voice as he treated us to a hymn, accapella. It’s always a pleasure!
Another pleasure is hearing Kristine and Jeremiah Geer sing in beautiful harmony. The Griffin/Geer family are near and dear to our hearts at Lakeside Chapel. Kristine first sang along her dad, Keith, when she was a young girl. Now she joins us twice a summer, once with her son and daughter, and then again with her husband. Thank you, Kristine and family.
We were so glad to have Lesley Clemons join us for the first time since she retired from her position as organist and music director. It gave us a chance to show our appreciation of her almost ten years of support musically. We hope she will make it back every summer and join us where she can enjoy the service, and our new able and talented organist and music director, Tracey Puckhaber.
Next Sunday, August 31 will be our last service of the season. We save the best for last.
Hope you can join us! 10:00 AM - 360 Cleverdale Road

Another hot Sunday, but it didn’t keep our parishioners away!
Rev Jason White was with us and he kept our attention with his sermon and not on the heat of the day. We were fortunate to have Jason lead our service for his third summer. He is very much at home in our beloved chapel. We hope his climb up to the new gazabo with his wife and 15-month-old went well. We’ll have to wait until next summer to hear how it went in the heat.
Sabrina LaPointe treated us to two beautiful pieces. Sabrina has a clear, soprano voice and with her selection of music, and Tracey Puckhaber as her accompaniment, made it especially delightful. We will look forward to hearing Sabrina again next year.
The flowers in the chapel where in memory of Rev Monty Robinson, who recently passed away. He had preached in our chapel for many years. Our thoughts are with his family and his congregation, as we know he will be missed.
We have two more services this summer. Please join us at 10:00 AM and bring your family and friends.

The ministers this summer have been outstanding! One right after the other!! This past Sunday was no different. Reverend Paul Barna, of Waterford, New York, joined us for his first time. We will hope he’ll come again. Paul loved the history of our place of worship and marveled at how beautiful our chapel is kept up. We agree, and thank him for his contribution by leading us in worship.
Paul Bradley, of Assembly Point, has sung for us many times over the years. The special music always enriches our service and Sunday’s hymn selection was especially lovely as well. The flowers in the chapel were given by Paul’s wife, Linda, a longstanding trustee who is known for her flower arrangements. Another factor to help enrich our Sundays together.
We hope you will come experience the fellowship, the music, the sermons, and our beautiful chapel in all her glory.
We have three Sundays left. We hope to see you next Sunday at 10:00 AM

We had a great showing for our Sunday service with Wes Smith, Rosie Spring and family, and our summer fellowship after the service, overlooking the lake. The weather was beautiful and although some may have been there for the cookies, the draw, as always, was Wes Smith. We are so fortunate to have his support year after year and appreciate his presence at Lakeside Chapel each August!! Rosie and Rob Spring are so talented musically, and when they add their children to the mix, it’s pure joy! Be sure to catch this assemble next year if you missed them on Sunday like I did. We gather for coffee, lemonade, cookies and fellowship on the first Sunday of August each year. I missed being there but you only have one chance to attend your 50th high school reunion. I highly recommend it!
Hope to see you next Sunday at 10:00.

There was quite a legacy of people at the chapel on Sunday! Reverend Rich Lloyd, from Tennessee but who has a home near Elizabeth Island, led the service and let the parishioners know just how far back his family connections go! Not only had his grandfather preached at our chapel for over 50 years, so had his dad who we were honored to have in attendance. Rich’s mother, Greta sang as our soloist when her husband was preaching. Rich remembers Sunday School in between services with Mrs Duncan while sitting next to his childhood friend Captain John Hilton. (Who was also in attendance) We know Rich will keep the legacy going, as will his sister, Vicky, by joining as a trustee last year. It’s always a pleasure to have the Lloyd Family at the chapel.
Our special music was another family legacy. Kristine Geer and her son and daughter were following in the footsteps of Kristine’s dad, Keith Griffin who sang for many years at Lakeside Chapel. Nora and Griffin harmonized beautifully with their mom and we know Keith was there in spirit watching over them. We were also treated to Nora and Griff playing their violins for their second piece. What a talented family. Kristine started singing along with her dad when she was young and is thankfully continuing the family legacy. She will be back again this summer with her husband Jeremiah. We are blessed!
Please join us next Sunday when we will be having our midsummer fellowship with coffee, lemonade, and cookies overlooking the lake right after the service. We hope you will join us!

Another great Sunday at Lakeside Chapel!
We believe Rev Dr Alan Rudnick loves our chapel as much as we do! It’s like having an old friend visiting. He shares his family with us and we love welcoming them all each summer. Alan always has a meaningful sermon, and this year, we even learned the “Lawnmower” and the “Sprinkler”! (You had to be there)
We were fortunate to have an accomplished pianist, Toni Weeden, help us out while Tracey, our organist was away on business. Toni seamlessly played the hymns and accompanied our soloist, Corey Cerullo who sang two beautiful pieces in German. His clear, rich voice is quite captivating. We are fortunate to have him sing every summer for us.
The flowers in the chapel were given in honor of The Waldo T and Ruth S Ross Charitable Trust, The Harry Pulver Estate, and the Trustees, past, present and future, who have helped keep our chapel in the beautiful condition it is in today.
An old tradition was brought back to Lakeside Chapel last week, thanks to our trustee Dick Young. You will have to pass by after dark to see it. (Photo)
We hope to see you all next Sunday at 10:00 AM

The Chapel is full swing now!! Rev Dr Sherri Meyer-Veen, of Niskayuna, NY joined us for the first time and we were pleased to have her. She led the service with such ease and delivered a sermon with a message that stayed with us long after the service. We are grateful for her support and hope she will come again.
The special music was performed by Gretchen Judge of Rochester, NY. We are pleased that Gretchen can support our chapel year after year, while she is here on vacation in Pilot K**b. Her violin is famous, and her signature piece, Ashokan Farewell is a chapel favorite! You have to experience her music as it fills the sanctuary of our 104 year old chapel!
The flowers were given in loving memory of Gretta Lloyd, who passed away in May. Gretta was a soloist at Lakeside Chapel for over 50 years along side her husband who had preached at our chapel for the same amount of time. (As did his father before him!) We are glad to have their legacy continue on with their daughter, Vicky, as a member of our trustees, and their son, Rich, as a visiting minister each summer. We hope they both continue on in their parent’s footsteps for many years to come.
Our Sunday services continue through Labor Day. We hope to see you next Sunday at 10 AM

It is truly a joy to welcome Mike Saccocio to Lakeside Chapel each summer! As the executive director of the City Mission in Schenectady, Mike brings a wealth of experience and compassion to everything he does. We love his insight and energy, leaving us both encouraged and inspired. His deep commitment to serving those in need is evident—not just in his work with the Mission, but also in everything he does. We were truly grateful for his presence and encouragement at our 4th of July service.
We were also delighted to enjoy, once again, the music of Al and Kathy Bain. Both are honored members of the New York State Country Music Hall of Fame in Cortland, NY. We feel fortunate to have them as they are in much demand throughout the region. Their performance added a different genre of music to our summer musical tradition—one that’s rich with variety and heart.
Thanks to all our parishioners for withstanding the warm temperatures! There was definitely a festive atmosphere, thanks to Mike, Al and Kathy, our organist, Tracey Puckhaber and longstanding trustee, Dick Young.
We hope to see you next Sunday!

We are so pleased to be back at Lakeside Chapel for the 2025 season! For our first Sunday service, we were treated to hearing the voice of our new organist, Tracey Puckhaber, while she played on the keyboard, welcoming our parishioners back before the service began. It was a lovely surprise. Cari Kassebaum took over the special music from there. She can hit the high notes so easily, and her choice of songs were as beautiful as her voice. Cari has supported us for many years, and we look forward to her continuing to sing for us for many more. We are always honored to have Ali Trowbridge lead the service. (She has her own Caldwell Church to attend to) We always feel fortunate to have her. Her smile and welcoming demeaner are just a couple of reasons we love her so. The Children’s Sermon was especially memorable for Tracey Puckhaber and her son, Brady, having Ali’s complete attention while reading The Runaway Bunny. A great read for the young and old alike.
Nestled on the eastside of Sheldon Point, in the hamlet of Cleverdale, Lakeside Chapel is a special place to worship. We hope you can join us Sundays this summer at 10:00 AM.
