This Sunday is the traditional Feast of Christ the King. The 10:30 am high Traditional Latin Mass at Immaculate Conception Oratory will be magnificent. If you have been thinking about attending a Latin Mass or been meaning to get back the "the Mac," this Sunday is the day. (There will also be a 8 am low Mass.)

Another mom chooses life. When a car pulling out stops in front of you and the window slowly comes down... time almost freezes for a moment. 'Holy Spirit, help me say the right thing...'

And then, when you see a big, happy smile on an expectant mom's beautiful face... it is an almost perfect moment of transcendent joy.

Yesterday, as we prayed on Shaker Blvd, it happened again. A joyful, friendly mom changed her mind and decided to keep her baby. When that happens, we are able to witness God's design in all its perfection: an excited, young woman saying 'yes' to life, dreaming about this new life's wonderful potential, and choosing to sacrifice whatever it takes for this amazing, innocent, and defenseless wonder from God.

It was a perfect moment yesterday. The mom (not shown in pics) was surprised when we offered her the free backpack and told her about all the resources available. But even better, we had another full bag of baby stuff, diapers, toys, clothes and more we had been saving for just the right mom...."Can you hold on a moment? ...let us get something else for you out of the car..." It was basically a spontaneous. pop up baby shower right on the sidewalk of Shaker Blvd.

It was awesome. It was a reminder of the way things ought to be. Excited expectant moms, loving neighbors helping however they can, big dreams, shared prayers. We hope to see that baby someday.

With the colder weather coming, we also had a "soft opening" for our winter coat give away, Our pictured friends wanted to say "thanks." We had 4 or 5 winter coats for friends who had been asking.

Yes, the world is in chaos...but you can fix your tiny piece of it by going out and loving your neighbor. And find those snippets of heaven. Those tastes of eternity. Like looking into the shining eyes and beautiful smile of a loving mom who just courageously said "yes" to life...and for a moment it all makes sense. Our Lord showed us the way when he picked up that Cross. Let's go. Let's follow Him.
