During , we honor Bishop GT Haywood, a prolific songwriter, one of his most famous songs being “I See A Crimson Stream of Blood.”

But, Bishop Haywood did more than sing, write, & pastor; once he heard about baptism in Jesus’ name, he forsook the Trinitarian doctrine and became a pioneer of the modern Apostolic faith. It is said that a Trinitarian pastor (one whose doctrine believes “God is in three persons,” rather than the biblical teaching, “the fullness of the godhead dwelt in Jesus bodily.” 1Tim3:16, Col2:9) wrote a letter to Bishop Haywood warning him of the “heresy” of baptism in Jesus’ name, and the oneness of God, and when Bishop Haywood read that snail-mail letter he set pen to paper to reply and said, “You’re too late!” Bishop Haywood had already re-baptized 465 members of his congregation!

Bishop Haywood paid a high price for his newfound belief system. The Trinitarian organization he left held/kept all copyrights to Bishop Haywood’s songs; he, therefore, lost his rightful income from the sales of those songs.

We are who we are, we know what we know, we are blessed because of courageous men like GT Haywood.
