The Women of Heights Presbyterian are currently studying the book of Hebrews using Jen Wilkin’s “Better”.

Last week the main takeaway was to pay closer attention to Jesus (Hebrews 2:1) - and to obsess over what Jesus Christ did for you: his complete sacrifice, his grace, his love.

What might it mean for you to pay closer attention to Jesus today?

What a joyful Sunday celebrating the installation of our new pastor, Duane Davis! His friends from the faith and ministry traveled from several states away to participate in this special service, with their prayers, laying on of hands, challenges, and preaching. Thanks to our hospitality team for a lovely reception and for those who coordinated such a thoughtful gift for Pastor Duane!

As we were reminded today, the call of Pastor Duane to Heights Pres was not the decision of an individual or even of a committee. It has been confirmed by the whole church, by the Presbytery, and by Jesus Christ our Head!

We are excited to introduce the official Heights Pres worship playlist! Our desire is to shepherd the congregation better by providing intentional song repetition while still structuring in new songs. This playlist is one way of providing that repetition! Get you some sisters who can engage in .

Last night, a group of Heights Pres women gathered to discuss racial reconciliation in our church. It was sweet to worship and pray together, consider the Biblical story arc of reconciliation, and get so many thoughts out on the table. Sitting around the literal, beautiful dining room table of our sister, we felt the fierce safety of one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all.

The ability of this Gospel to unify is staggering. The work of the Spirit to weave thought threads and knit diverse hearts is supernatural. It's humbling and blessed. Keep us on this path, Lord Jesus!
