Tending Pilgrim's Gardens

Pilgrim members and friends are invited and encouraged to help maintain our garden beds. Major cleanup work was accomplished on Memorial Day. Thanks to the hearty folks who helped out, just a bit more cleanup remains. The task of maintaining attractive beds is ongoing. Watch GT for announcements of group gardening times. If you'd prefer to garden on your own schedule, assume responsibility for a particular bed, or have questions, please contact Susan Sanders, 216-288-8879 (text/talk) for a specific work assignment. 🌿

Next group gardening time:
Monday, June 1, 9:30 - 11:30 am.
Bring your favorite tools.

176 north (Jennings Freeway) closed for a few weeks, so please note the alternatives if this is how you get to Pilgrim from points south.

From ODOT District 12 – May 14:

During inspection work on the SR 176 north bridge just south of the West 14th St/Steelyard Commons exit, a key structural component was found to need immediate repairs. In order to make these repairs, SR 176 north between I-480 and Denison Avenue will close this afternoon Thursday, May 14, at 4 p.m. and is anticipated to open early-June, although that is subject to change.
The following closures will be in place to accommodate this work:

β€’ SR 176 north between I-480 and W. 14th St./ Quigley Rd.
β€’ I-480 east and west to SR 176 north: Detour will be I-480 to I-77 north to I-490 west to SR 176 south.
β€’ Steelyard Dr. entrance ramp to SR 176 north: Detour will be North to Quigley to SR 176 south to I-480 east to I-77 north to I-490 west
β€’ Denison Ave. to SR 176 north: Detour will be SR 176 south to I-480 east to I-77 to I-490 west

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Cleveland Marathon Returns to Tremont & Duck Island This Sunday – May 17 πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Residents of Tremont and Duck Island β€” please be advised that the Cleveland Marathon route will once again pass through our neighborhoods this Sunday morning, May 17.

Due to road closures associated with the Marathon, portions of Tremont, Duck Island, and nearby neighborhoods may experience limited vehicle access during the race. Some residents may encounter street closures and traffic restrictions from approximately 6:00 AM until 10:00 AM, depending on location and traffic conditions. Please plan accordingly.

If you normally street park along the marathon route, please move your vehicle to a nearby side street β€” preferably Saturday night, or no later than 5:45 AM Sunday morning β€” to avoid access issues during the race.

Runners of the Full Marathon and Half Marathon are expected to pass through the area approximately between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM, with most streets reopening around 10:00–10:15 AM, though some areas may experience longer delays.

While the road closures may create temporary inconvenience, the marathon is also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our city and neighborhoods. If you’re able, consider cheering on the runners from your porch or sidewalk, making signs, or simply offering patience and encouragement as thousands of participants pass through Tremont and Duck Island.

Your support and hospitality help bring the race to life and showcase the energy and spirit of our amazing neighborhoods.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation β€” and please plan ahead for Sunday morning travel.
