1ST THESSALONIANS 5:18 (KJV)
“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” It has been a week since we celebrated Thanksgiving with our families and friends; some celebrated it alone, yet gave thanks, nevertheless.
We say as believers in Christ, that every day is a day of thanksgiving; and it most surely is. I’m sharing this message because we are now embarking on the Christmas holiday season. What a joyous time to be thankful and joyous.
As we began celebrating this season, let us truly be thankful for all the Lord has done for us and yet doing.
The Spirit of the Lord asked me on Thanksgiving Day, what I was thankful for. I have so much to be thankful for, day after day and year after year. I count it not strange to give thanks on the fourth Thursday of November every year (Thanksgiving Day), because I’m always giving thanks.
My health, retirement, family, love ones, parents, daily nourishment, shelter, ministry, marriage, God’s daily protection and provisions and the list is endless for what I am thankful for.
When asked by the Holy Spirit, my object of thanksgiving, it took me to 1st. Thess. 5:18, which took me to Psalm 119:71 that says, “It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statues (KJV). See (Vers.67, 75 also.
I thank God for the trials and tribulations I have had to endure. Through them I was introduced to Him. I thank Him for times of heart aches and confusion, that allow me to know Him as a “Heart Fixer and a Mind Regulator. In times of sickness, I learned that He is indeed the Greatest Physician and the Chief Surgeon. He is the only true and Living God that can heal us everywhere, I said everywhere we hurt. I could go on and on about the afflictions we go through in this life’s journey. It’s what makes us grow and takes us to the Purpose for which we are called. We are not going to find it in our comfort zone because life happens. Let’s thank God for our “Spiritual Journey” more so than all our “Physical Blessings.” They are subject to change. In so doing we can truly have a thankful and joyous Holiday Season, remembering, JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE THIS CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON!
