On Sunday, May 24, 2026, on the Sunday of the 318 Holy Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council, when our Holy Church prayerfully commemorates the Holy Equals-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius, as well as Saint Nikodim, Archbishop of Serbia, the Patronal Feast (Slava) of our senior parishioners — Spasovdan, the Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord — was solemnly celebrated in our Cathedral.
This year’s godparents of the Slava, Dragana Pribićević Knežević and Nikola Knežević, beautified the Divine Liturgy and festive gathering through their love and devotion, offering the traditional Slava gifts and preparing the feast of love for all present.
Following the blessing and breaking of the Slava bread, a memorial service was served for the repose of the souls of all departed members of this organization, praying that the Lord grant them the Kingdom of Heaven, eternal rest, and dwelling among the righteous.
The faithful then gathered in a spirit of Christian love and unity, giving thanks to the Lord for all His blessings and offering prayers for the health, peace, progress, and blessing of all our senior parishioners and their families.
Nada Vrzić volunteered to serve as the Slava sponsor for the coming year, and we prayerfully wish her every good gift from the Lord, abundant blessings, health, spiritual joy, and salvation.
We extend special gratitude to the former president of the seniors’ organization, Josephine Vujić, for her many years of dedicated labor, love, and sacrifice, as well as to the new president, Mark Vučenović, prayerfully wishing that the Lord grant them all good health, strength, peace, and joy for many blessed years.
We also sincerely thank the Circle of Serbian Sisters for their selfless labor, love, and continual support, through which they once again prepared a beautiful festive meal and agape meal for everyone present.
We thank all of our senior parishioners who, through their many years of labor, sacrifice, experience, and love, contributed to the growth, progress, and preservation of our community and holy shrine. It is upon us to learn from their unity, harmony, faith, and perseverance, and to follow the paths they paved through their lives and efforts.
May the Lord, through the prayers of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Saint Nikodim of Serbia, and in honor of the Ascension of Our Lord — Spasovdan — grant strength, spiritual joy, peace, and salvation to all, for many blessed years!

У недељу, 24. маја 2026. године, у Недељу 318 Светих Отаца Првог васељенског сабора, када наша Света Црква молитвено прославља Свету равноапостолну браћу Кирила и Методија, као и Светог Никодима, архиепископа српског, у нашем Саборном храму свечано је прослављена Крсна слава наших пензионера — Спасовдан, празник Вазнесења Господњег.
Свету Литургију и славско сабрање увеличали су овогодишњи кумови славе, Драгана Прибићевић Кнежевић и Никола Кнежевић, који су са љубављу и побожношћу принели славске дарове и припремили славску трпезу љубави.
Након освећења и ломљења славског колача, служен је мали помен за покој душа свих упокојених чланова овог удружења, уз молитву Господу да им подари Царство небеско, вечни покој и насеље међу праведнима.
Верни народ се потом сабрао у духу хришћанске љубави и заједништва, благодарећи Господу на свим даровима и узносећи молитве за здравље, мир, напредак и благослов свих наших пензионера и њихових породица.
За куму славе у наредној години пријавила се Нада Врзић, којој од срца желимо свако добро од Господа, обиље благослова, здравље, духовну радост и спасење.
Посебну благодарност упућујемо досадашњој председници пензионера, Џозефин Вујић, на њеном дугогодишњем труду, љубави и пожртвованом раду, као и новом председнику Марку Вученовићу, уз молитвене жеље да Господ свима подари добро здравље, снагу, мир и радост, на многа и блага љета.
Искрено се захваљујемо и Колу српских сестара на њиховом несебичном труду, љубави и увек лепом доприносу, којим су и овога пута припремиле диван славски ручак и трпезу љубави за све присутне.
Хвала свим нашим пензионерима који су својим дугогодишњим радом, жртвом, искуством и љубављу допринели развоју, напретку и очувању наше заједнице и светиње. На нама је да учимо из њиховог јединства, слоге, вере и истрајности, те да следимо стазе које су нам својим животом и трудом утабали.
Нека Господ, молитвама Светих Кирила и Методија, Светог Никодима српског и у славу Вазнесења Господњег — Спасовдана, подари свима снагу, духовну радост, мир и спасење, на многа и блага љета!
