As the school year comes to a close, I want to reflect on how far you have come. It could be that you are moving up in your school career and/or you have had a mental battle that you have either overcome or are battling. Whatever the case is, God is with you every breath you take, every move you make.
(See what I did there?)
I wanted to touch on the subject of fear this week. Fear can either be physical or mental. You could have a fear of heights, or you can have fear of failure. Either way, fear is still the same.
Isaiah 41:10 and 13 says, "Don't panic. I'm with you. There's no need to fear for I am your God. I'll give you strength. I'll help you. I, your God, have had a firm grip on you and I"m not letting go."
For me personally, I have a fear of the future. I am graduating and going to college. But the thing is, I haven't found something I am extremely passionate about or that I want to do for the rest of my life. I am a planner, so this is just adding to my fear of the future. People expect great things from me and I am scared that I won't live to those expectations. I know that He has plans for me that I can't see at the moment. And that really scares me. And as I mentioned last week, God is always with you whether you know it or not.
Proverbs 31:25 says, "She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future." We are clothed in strength and dignity.
So laugh at the face of fear. Have courage and know that the Lord is with you.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

The first verse of Psalm 46 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
We all have this void, this empty hole in our hearts. The hole is filled with sins that we think will make us feel better. But in reality that void in our heart keeps emptying out slowly, like a leaky valve. Over time we realize that we still feel like something is lacking in our life.
But with filling your heart with a constant flow of God, you will feel more complete. The hole in your heart will overflow with love. It won’t leak out like before when trying to fill the hole with sins. Life with God isn’t always easy. But God makes sure that you are taken care of. You are watched over even if you don’t know it. God IS our refuge and strength.
God puts us in situations that you may question, “Why me?” Why you? Because He is testing your strength. He wants to see how loyal you are to Him. It almost feels like he will drop you right in the middle of a good part of your life, and it will feel like you are falling hard and you won’t be able to catch yourself, but God will always catch you in the end.
God is our refuge and strength. Find a home in Him.

Good morning everyone I hope you are having a wonderful week!

MESSAGE OF THE WEEK: "No foul language is to come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear."
-Ephesians 4:29

In today's society. People don't always consider curse words to be "bad" by using the excuses "oh it's just a word" or "that wasn't a bad word back In bible times so it's okay that I say it."

I feel this is a common problem because people aren't as connected to the word of God in the way they should be. If you notice, the Bible doesn't just list off a bunch of curse words and say "don't say these." The word states that "NO FOUL LANGUAGE is to come from your mouth."

Now when I read that, I know what foul language is. So I know that if a word wasn't considered bad in bible times but it is now, I PROBABLY shouldn't say it.

Though times may change, foul language is still foul language.

Ultimately when it comes down to it you have to ask yourself, would God be pleased with the words I speak? When I speak, do the words I say build people up or tear people down? If God was standing right in front of me, would I still say that word?

That really puts it into perspective doesn't it? It's so easy to let a word "slip." That's because we hear these words everywhere: in movies, tv shows, school, work, the store, music, and so on.

This is why you have to guard your heart. Like I said last week, what ever you allow into your heart is what you will put out.

So I ask that you guys will dwell on this and think about it this week.

And remember, think before you speak. Does what you say show the love of Christ? Or does it show no love at all. God bless!

INTRODUCING: The message of the week.

Every Monday we will post a weekly message and scripture. The point of this is for it to resonate with you and make you think about it and pray about it throughout the week.

MESSAGE OF THE WEEK: A good man produces good out of the good storeroom of his heart. An evil man produces evil out of the evil storeroom of his heart, for the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. -Luke 6:45

Too many times we as believers leave our guard down and don't really think about what we are letting in. In this verse, it's saying that if we fill our heart with good things, we will also put out good things. But if we fill our heart with evil things, we will put out evil things.

Whatever you allow into your heart and spirit can impact how you treat others and how others see you.

For example, who you willingly surround yourself with can directly impact what enters your heart and spirit. This is why it's important to always guard your heart and surround yourself with people that will make you draw nearer to God, not farther.

Now about movies, I've never been one to watch horror films, they creep me out. But for those of you who do, you have to be careful what you watch.

I'm not saying it's a sin to watch scary movies. But I AM saying that if you decide to watch a horror movie that's about demonic possession, you are willingly opening a door to your heart and spirit whether you know it or not.

Even the music you listen to and TV shows you watch impact what go in and out of your heart.

So, guard your heart and make sure you are allowing good things in so that you can put good things out. God bless!
