Happy Feast Day St. Augustine School-Barberton!

St. Augustine of Hippo, son of St. Monica, was a bishop and a prolific Catholic writer.
⁣
In his early life, Augustine lived recklessly and loved worldly sensualities and partying. His mother prayed for his conversion, and he eventually accepted Christianity as the one, true religion.
⁣
After finding conviction through scripture, he was baptized by St. Ambrose in 387 and was ordained a priest in 391. He became the Bishop of Hippo in 396 and spent the rest of his life preaching the Gospel, writing against heresy, and converting people to Christianity. He is recognized as a Doctor of the Church.

St. Augustine is the patron of theologians, brewers, and printers.

Happy Feast Day The Academy of Saint Bartholomew!

Today is the feast day of St. Bartholomew.
⁣
Not much is known about him, however, he was one of the twelve apostles. In the Gospel of John, he is referred to as Nathaniel.
⁣
He evangelized Mesopotamia, Persia, Egypt, India, and Greater Armenia. Bartholomew was beheaded by King Astyages, king of the Median Empire.

He is the patron of leatherworkers, butchers, and plasterers.
⁣

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland is pleased to announce that St Jerome School, Our Lady of Angels, and Corpus Christi Academy will join the network of Notre Dame ACE Academies this school year, marking the next chapter in its partnership with the University of Notre Dame's ACE - Alliance for Catholic Education.

Last Friday's Bishop's Convocation was a powerful reminder of our Diocese of Cleveland - Catholic Schools mission to help young people come to know, love, and serve God. 🙏Thank you to our hosts - St. Francis of Assisi School-Gates Mills, Ohio - and to everyone who joined us for this day of prayer, formation, and inspiration. Serving with joy, leading with faith. 🌟 This summer, 130+ students from the Avon Catholic Community served others, grew in faith, and discovered what it means to be missionary disciples right where they live.

The Bosco Drexel Summer Youth Mission includes about 130 junior high and high school students.
