Today, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee announced the launch of FeedTN.org a new platform connecting Tennesseans with resources and opportunities to serve their communities.

If you’re a SNAP recipient in Tennessee and looking for ways to fill the gap the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) — administered by our Commodities Staff here at TDA — provides nutritious food to eligible individuals and families. If you’re SNAP eligible, you are automatically eligible for TEFAP distributions.

Distribution is done DIRECTLY from your local food bank:
Use our interactive map to locate the food bank serving your county here. Simply select your county of residence from the dropdown menu and call the corresponding food bank or affiliate agency. There are HUNDREDS of affiliates on the map, so make sure to select your county to see them.

We are here, they will be here, God is always here, will you be here?

In the midst of the government shutdown and with the uncertainty of SNAP benefits, ECHO and Fishes and Loaves expects exceptionally high demand. We are committed that not one child in Cleveland will go hungry during this crisis. But we need your help!

Donate Funds to ECHO to support. You can give online at echooutreach.org or in person at the ECHO center at 450 Lang Street in Cleveland.

The increased need will also mean an increased need for volunteers. Come by the center, or email [email protected] to volunteer or arrange other ways to give.

If you know someone in need, send them to our weekly food distributions on Fridays at 10:30 and our meals Wednesday nights at 5:30 and Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9:30.

Finding Peace in the Storm

When life feels like a hurricane, both literally and figuratively, we can find peace in knowing that God is still in control. Even when the winds rage and the future feels uncertain, His presence remains our anchor. Just as we pray for those in Jamaica facing the power of Hurricane Melissa, we’re reminded that God’s strength is greater than any storm. He promises to never leave us, even when everything around us shakes. No matter how strong the storm, we can rest knowing our hope is secure in Him.
