On March 26, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a case that has the potential to make a major impact in the widespread accessibility of chemical abortion, which is now the most common form of abortion in the United States.

The USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities, along with Conference President Archbishop Timothy Broglio, and Bishop Malesic are inviting Catholics to join a focused effort of prayer for the end of abortion and the protection of women and preborn children, beginning on March 25, the eve of the oral arguments through June when a decision is expected.

The Miracle of The Sun in Fatima on October 13th, 1917, was a momentous occasion. During this event, Saint Joseph appeared alongside Our Lady and held the Child Jesus in his arms. As the head of the Holy Family, Saint Joseph's role was critical in Jesus and Mary's lives. His fatherhood reflected God the Father's fatherhood, and the first family on earth was a prototype of all families, reflecting the Holy Trinity.

In the apparition, Saint Joseph blesses, and Jesus blesses in the same manner as Saint Joseph, reflecting His paternal guidance. It shows that Jesus learned many things from His earthly father, such as how to pray, read the Scriptures, and acquire a trade.

Saint Peter Julian Eymard once said, "Jesus and Mary lovingly surrendered their hearts to Joseph as he was the head of the Holy Family, and they bent their wills to him." This statement reinforces the importance of Saint Joseph's role in Jesus and Mary's lives.

St. Joseph is a great intercessor. In her autobiography, St. Theresa of Avila shared that she has never asked anything of him that he has failed to grant. She also expressed her astonishment at the great favors God has bestowed on her through this blessed saint and the perils from which He has freed her, both in body and soul.

The significance of Saint Joseph's role and intercession cannot be overstated. His example of fatherhood and obedience is one that all families should strive to follow.
