Paul presents a gospel message that demonstrates the grace and power of God as he proclaims "what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures 4 and that he was buried and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve."

Too often, Christians present a poor witness for Christ as we argue and even divide ourselves by disputes over matters that in the end don't matter in terms of salvation. They are not unimportant, but neither are they so important as to transcend the power of what Christ did for us and for the world.

We often make the message of the gospel more complicated than it needs to be. While the living out of the gospel can be complex at time because it involves ...

As we continue in the Easter Season, we celebrated our graduating high school seniors with a breakfast wonderfully prepared by John Paul Gates, Jeremy Alford, and Jason Makamson.

In the morning worship service, we recognized our seniors with a Bible from their church family. It is always a special day to celebrate these young people as they complete a big step on their life journey and prepare for what life holds next.

The early Church devoted itself to prayer, teaching of the apostles, breaking of bread, fellowship, and to sharing with any who had need.

Those characteristics of Christian witness and practice still shape and form the witness of the Church in modern times. Though the manner in which this witness and practice takes place is different in 21st century America than 1st century Israel, these spiritual disciplines still matter in how we live out and witness to faith in Christ as the Body of Christ, the Church.

What a blessing to have folks from Service Over Self in Vicksburg to come talk to us about the youth mission week our youth will be participating in this summer! It is a new venture for our church, and we look forward to our youth experiencing what these youth and adults described. The choir is always a blessing, and special thanks to Collis Thorn for leading worship in the absence of our pastor.

We are so excited to host the Baddour Center Miracles this Sunday morning in our regular worship time of 10:55am! We invite any who wish to attend to join with us in what promises to be an amazing time of worship and inspiration.

For those unfamiliar with the Baddour Center and with the Miracles, here are a couple of descriptions from their website:

"The Baddour Center is an engaging place where men and women with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to build productive, meaningful lives, despite their challenges. An environment where individual potential is defined by character and God-given talent, not by limitations."

The Miracles are their choir. "Their ministry is to glorify God, demonstrate the abilities of persons with intellectual disabilities, and tell the story of The Baddour Center. Residents audition to be one of the choir members who attend mandatory practices weekly. Pre-pandemic during peak years, their annual travels included an average of over 7,000 miles, 44 performances, and approximately 7,000 people in churches and other venues, introducing potential residents and donors to The Baddour Center."

While that description is a good one, it cannot compare to EXPERIENCING their joy in worship. So, do yourself a favor and join with us this Sunday, April 12, at 10:55am at 318 S. Court Street.

The Baddour Center is a supportive group home for adults with special needs in Senatobia, providing vocational and residential programs. Schedule a tour today!
