We invite you to worship with us this Sunday, June 14, at 11:00 a.m. as we celebrate the Third Sunday after Pentecost and continue our observance of Pride Month.

This week's scriptures remind us that God calls ordinary people to extraordinary acts of compassion. In Exodus, God invites the people into a covenant of love and purpose. Psalm 100 calls us to worship with gratitude and joy. In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus is moved by compassion and sends his disciples into the world to bring healing, hope, and good news.

Pastor Rev. Scott Rosenstein's message, "Called to Compassion, Sent in Love," will explore how Christ continues to call us to lives of kindness, justice, inclusion, and service.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we give thanks for the diversity of God's beloved community and reaffirm that all are welcome, all are valued, and all are loved.

Our Music Director, Sonia Xinyuan Hu, is enjoying a well-deserved vacation. We wish her safe travels and are grateful that Zion member and Council President Keith Konet will share his gifts at the piano this Sunday.

This Sunday, May 24th, we celebrate Pentecost — the culmination of Eastertide and the day we remember the gift of the Holy Spirit: breath that renews, fire that inspires, and love that gathers diverse peoples into beloved community.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we will also pause to remember with respect those who lost their lives in military service, hold in prayer all who bear the wounds of war, and renew our commitment to peace, justice, and compassion in our world.

Please note: Worship will begin one half hour earlier than usual, at 10:30 AM, to allow for more flexibility over the holiday weekend.

You are invited to wear red, orange, yellow, or other flame-inspired colors as symbols of the Spirit’s renewing presence among us.

During worship, the Zion Church Choir, accompanied by Sonia Xinyuan Hu, Music Director and Pianist, will present the beloved hymn “Sweet, Sweet Spirit.”

Join us this Sunday, May 17 at 11 AM as Zion Church celebrates the Seventh Sunday of Easter and gives thanks for 159 years of worship, witness, music, service, and community.

As we gather between Ascension and Pentecost, our scriptures invite us to reflect on waiting, hope, faithfulness, and God’s presence in uncertain times.

Rev. Scott Rosenstein’s message, “Still Singing: Faithfulness in an Uncertain Time,” asks: What does it mean to remain faithful when the future is unknown?

Our Choir Hymn, “Community of Christ,” will be offered by the Zion Church Choir, accompanied by our gifted Music Director and Pianist, Sonia Xinyuan Hu.

Following worship, stay for a 159th Anniversary Reception featuring charcuterie, cake, conversation, and community.

For 159 years, Zion has gathered to worship, serve, sing, and hope.

Still creating beauty.
Still welcoming.
Still singing.
By God’s grace—we continue.
