🙏A New Evening of Worship: “What Is Your Name?”
What a wonderful evening at Cleveland First Methodist Church!
Last night, our Worship in the Park gathering moved indoors and became our new monthly Praise & Worship Evening. We welcomed new faces alongside our beloved church family for a beautiful time of lifting our voices, praising the Lord, and glorifying His name. What a blessing to worship together!
Our message, “What Is Your Name?”, took us into Genesis 3 and 32, where we explored the stories of Adam and Eve and Jacob. Like them, we sometimes hide, manipulate, and wander away from God. But here is the beautiful truth: God comes looking for His children.
He calls us out of hiding; not to condemn, reject, or humiliate us, but to bring us into the light and lead us into truth.
So often, we carry names that have defined us for years. Failure. Broken. Unworthy. Rejected. Ashamed. Forsaken.
But God speaks a different word over His children.
Isaiah 62:2-4 reminds us that the Lord gives us a new name. We are not forgotten or deserted. We are loved, redeemed, and treasured by the One who delights in us.
You don't have to clean yourself up before coming to God. You don't have to perform, pretend, or hide behind the person you think you should be. You can come honestly, just as you are.
God already knows your name. He knows your story, your struggles, and the places where you've been hiding. He's calling you into the light, not to shame you, but to bring you closer to Him.
