The Official page of the Church of God with International Offices in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Church of God is an Evangelical, Pentecostal movement representing over seven million members in 183 countries of the world. The Church of God began in 1886 and it has grown to become one of the largest in the world, with worldwide membership over 7 million in 183 countries. The movement’s origi

ns began with a small meeting of Christians at Barney Creek Meeting House on the Tennessee/North Carolina border, making it the oldest Pentecostal denomination in the United States. The Church of God existed as a countercultural movement in its beginning and continues to be a force for higher education with sponsored institutions including Lee University and Pentecostal Theological Seminary and more than 100 Bible and training schools around the world. The theological teachings of the Church of God have not changed significantly since its foundation. The movement continues to be an influence both locally and around the globe. Its heritage comes from the strength of generations who have felt tremendous life-change inside a local Church of God. We believe the Pentecostal expression embraces the good, true, and beautiful found within the Christian faith.

78 years ago today, on August 30, 1948, the Church of God General Assembly in Birmingham, Alabama adopted the Declaration of Faith.

It remains our official expression of doctrine.

We believe:

1 In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2 In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
3 That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
4 That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
5 That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
6 In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
7 Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
8 In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
9 In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
10 In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
11 Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
12 In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
13 In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
14 In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

This we believe.

“Dad, can we do just one more?”

For Mike and Jimille Mills, those words from their son Mikey now carry a meaning they could never have imagined.

In this deeply personal episode of Between Sundays, they share Mikey’s transformation on the mission field, the tragedy that changed their family forever, and how his testimony still leads people to Jesus.

Last week, more than 2,000 students and leaders gathered for Winterfest in Togo, Africa, and the Holy Spirit moved in a powerful way! Lives were changed as many gave their hearts to Christ and responded to His call!

Pastor Keith Hawes of Mercy Crossing Church reminds us that victory isn’t found in standing still; it’s found when we step out in obedience.

Take the step and watch what God does next.
