Hello Hedergäst!

Today is Frjádagr!!! There has been debates as to whether it is F***g's day or Freyja's day, so why not celebrate both?!! F***g is Odin's wife, she is a very clever goddess, because she has been able to outwit Odin on more than one occasion. She is also the goddess of divination, fortune telling and fate. As stated in the Gylfaginning "F***g is Odin‘s wife, and she knows the fates of all men, though she speaks no prophecy." She is also the goddess of childbirth, motherhood, marriage and family. She is also the mother Baldr, Hodr, and Hermodr.

The goddess Freyja is the goddess of war, love, and beauty. She is one of the Vanir, and Freyr's sister. Freyja is the ruler of the Fólkvangr fields where her beautiful Sessrúmnir hall is located. Interestingly, it is by the Fólkvangr fields that warriors enter from the battlefield. Many believe that all fallen warriors end up in the halls of Valhalla, but this is not true; only half of them do, the others go to Fólkvangr. Interestingly, in the quote above, Freyja is given the right to choose which warriors, making her field no less important or desirable than Valhöll. It’s not common knowledge that Freyja has a husband - the god Óðr, although their relationship, in the modern concept, could be considered somewhat dysfunctional. We find confirmation of this in Gylfaginning:
“Ódr went away on long journeys, and Freyja weeps for him, and her tears are red gold."
She was also the Goddess of Seiðr, old Norse magic that can predict and change the future. Mostly women were practitioners of it, though sometimes there were also men, including Odin. She wears the beautiful necklace, Brisingamen. She is accompanied by the boar Hildisvíni, she also has Fjaðrhamr, cloak of falcon feather that allows the wearer to fly. She is also known to have large cats pull her chariot. So for today's challenge, do a rune pull! Also, if you have cats, let's see them!!!

Hello Hedergäst!

Today is Þórsdagr!!! This translates to Thor's day!! Thor is the son of Odin and Jörð, the goddess and personification of the earth. He is the protector of Midgard, and slayer of giants. Thor is the strongest of the gods and is god of thunder, lightning, and storm.

An important mention here is the description of Thor from the Gylfaginning:
“Thor is the foremost of them, he who is called Thor of the Æsir, or Öku-Thor; he is the strongest of all gods and men. He has his realm in the place called Thrúdvangar, and his hall is called Bilskirnir; in that hall are five hundred and forty rooms. It is the greatest house known to men”

Thor is also a true warrior, brave and determined, who contemplates victory first and foremost, before considering the consequences of his actions. Even in the final battle he will fight Jormungandr, even though he knows that he will die, he doesn't back down or turn away. His gauntlets are Járngreipr, these iron gauntlets help him wield Mjolnir, so it's safe to say that when Mjolnir was made, so were these gauntlets. His belt is Megingjörð, it doubles his strength, even without it, he is strongest. He wields the mighty hammer Mjolnir!! This is not just a hammer, but a symbol of the god himself, for without it the image of the god is incomplete. Using his hammer, Thor has defeated many giants and eventually Jormungandr. But did you know it is not just a weapon? It is also a sacred tool, for example, blessing a marriage. His goats are Tanngrisnir & Tanngnjóstr, these two goats pull the chariot of the god Thor. Both goats can be eaten and resurrected the next day with the hammer of Mjolnir, but the bones of the animals cannot be damaged, otherwise, this will affect their condition after resurrection or even make resurrection impossible. So today's challenge is to show your strength! Whether it's lifting something heavy, or showing preserverance toward a goal. Be determined! Be brave! Hail Thor!!

As a secondary challenge, let's see those hammers!!!!

Hello Hedergäst!

Today is Odinsdagr! This translates to Odins day!! Odin is the father of the gods who together with his brothers Vali and Ve created the world
from the flesh and bones of the giant Ymir. He is married to F***ga and lives in Gladsheim. He is also is the god of wisdom, battle and death, magic, and knowledge. His ravens are Hugin and Munin, his wolves are Freki and Geri, his spear is Gungnir, his ring is Draupnir, his horse is Sleipnir. Odin hung himself from the tree Yggdrasil for 9 day and 9 nights and pierced himself with his spear to gain favor of the Norns to gain knowledge of the runes we know today. He also commands an army of Valyrie, who chooses the worthy slain, which he keeps half to go to Valhöll. Odin has gone to extreme lengths to obtain knowledge, including plucking his own eye out. So today's challenge is to share books you have in your library.

Hello there Hedergäst,

The old norse name for Monday is "Mánadagr", which literally translates to "Moon's day". Maní stands for moon and dagr means day. This name for Monday is shared by many other Germanic languages, including German ("Montag") and Dutch ("Maandag").

The naming of Monday after the moon is a reflection of the ancient Nordic peoples' observation and reverence of the moon. The moon was an important celestial body that was associated with various deities and had a significant role in determining the timing of many agricultural and religious events.

In Norse mythology, the moon was personified by the god Máni, who was said to ride across the sky in a chariot pulled by two horses. Máni was believed to have the power to affect the tides and the growth of crops, and his worship was an important part of the Nordic religious tradition.

The association of Monday with the moon is also reflected in the Nordic calendar, which was based on the phases of the moon. Each month began with the new moon and was divided into two halves, known as the "bright half" and the "dark half". The first day of the week, Monday, was seen as the beginning of the "bright half" of the lunar cycle, and was thus associated with new beginnings and fresh starts.

So let me ask you all. When was the last time you went outside in the middle of the night or in the evening and just stared at the beauty of the moon?Today's challenge will be at night time. I want you to sit outside tonight, go outside and enjoy the beautiful moon from your area and just take a moment to appreciate it. I also challenge you to take a picture of the moon of where you're at and it's faced tonight and also take a moment and learn a little bit more about Mani, and what he does for us all.
