Our Lady of Angels Parish is pleased to announce a historic celebration in the life of our parish community.

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM, Bishop Michael Woost will preside at the Rite of Dedication of Altar & Church at Our Lady of Angels Parish.

As preparations began for the dedication of a new altar, parish leaders discovered that although the church was built in 1941 and opened on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, it was never formally dedicated due to the outbreak of World War II. More than 80 years later, Our Lady of Angels will finally celebrate the formal dedication of both its church and altar.

This historic liturgy marks a significant milestone for the parish and honors the faith, sacrifice, and vision of the generations who built and sustained this community

Music for the liturgy will be provided by the Tri-Parish Festival Chorus and Brass Ensemble, bringing together musicians from Our Lady of Angels Parish, St. Vincent de Paul Church - Cleveland, and St. Patrick's Parish West Park, along with additional representatives from Holy Family Church - Parma, St. Columbkille Catholic Parish, and Saint John Neumann

We invite all parishioners, alumni, friends of the parish, and members of the community to join us for this once-in-a-generation celebration.

Join us at OLA to celebrate the Birthday of the Church and the conclusion of the Easter season on this Solemnity of Pentecost - we are blessed to be joined by a string quartet, to lift up our minds and hearts to the grace of the holy spirit and make room in our lives for his action!

As part of our preparing for consecration or our new altar Tops and church dedication on July 19th I wondered what was under the carpeting in the sanctuary - it turns out there are beautiful wood steps (added after Vatican II when they took down the metal grate and move the tabernacle back to the altar of repose) an the original wood base of the current altar. So after consultation, the carpeting (which is not original to the space) is being removed and we are going to refurbish and bring life back to the wood, which will add beauty to our sanctuary and make our church even more reverberant for our prayer and raising our voices to God. A mighty shout out to the maintenance crew at Our Lady of Angels Parish West Park for their great work in this endeavor.
