Unity Christian Ministries, Inc. Where you can become more than a conqueror! Hello. My name is Aubrey Ector and I am the founding pastor of Unity Christian Ministries.

I would like to share a little of my heart concerning the vision of UCM. At UCM, we recognize the great challenge that life presents to people at this time in history. Now, perhaps as never before, there is the need for the church of Jesus Christ to maintain the purity of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a real passion for just that. Our passion for the truth of God comes out of the recognition

that this is what we are called to do, and that it is only by embracing the truth of God that people can navigate the treacherous waters of life, and truly know God. We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is very simple. It says simply that mankind is afflicted by the problem of sin, that sin separates us from God, and that God loved us enough to pay the price for our sins through the work of atonement performed by his only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ. It says further that absolutely anybody can appropriate the benefits of Jesus’ work of atonement by making him the very focus of their lives, and by making his work of atonement upon the cross the enduring object of their persevering faith. Among the results of doing this are that: (1) we are justified, i.e. made right with God; (2) we are sanctified, i.e. cleansed from sin, as a process that occurs over time, as we continue to walk humbly with God; (3) we can be continually filled with the Spirit of God, so that we are empowered to live victorious lives, in spite of the difficult times. We believe that we are all very precious in the sight of God; and that each of us has a role to play in the great divine drama that is life on planet earth. Part of human nature is to try to achieve personal greatness. But Jesus said that if any person would be great in the kingdom of God, then that person must become a servant. And so this is the basis for the concept of a servant leader within the context of the local church. For example, in my role as a spiritual leader, I am not licensed to impose my will upon others, but rather to be a servant leader, who sets an example for others to follow. In my role, I am responsible for preaching the gospel, teaching the Word of God, which is reflective of his will and his ways, and for serving as a role model for those who would follow Jesus. Another appropriate term for the spiritual leader within the context of the local church is “under-shepherd.” This term recognizes the fact that it is Jesus who is truly the Bishop and Shepherd of our souls, and that as spiritual leaders, we serve at his pleasure. Therefore we do not seek to impose our will upon others for purposes of self aggrandizement. It is our goal to be as unpretentious as possible, and as real as possible. I believe that if you are without a church home and feel led to visit us, you will find a warm and inviting atmosphere. May God bless you with those things that you most need, including an ever closer walk with him. Sincerely in Christ,

Aubrey Ector
