Please read the post below and keep Fr. Franz in your prayers. He has been a truly heroic priest in our diocese.
UPDATE: Fr. Franz was back at the last German Mass, and seemed to be ok, albeit still careful moving around. Thank you for your prayers!
Original post: Dear friends: would you please pray for the health of Fr. Franz, who fell ill during Communion today during German-language Mass at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Cleveland, OH. Just as he administered the Holy Sacrament to me, he lost his strength and we were able to gently lower him to the ground. Fortunately a doctor and nurse were celebrating Mass with us, and once Fr. Franz regained some strength he concluded the Mass from the foot of the altar as we held for him the Roman Missal and microphone--even in a time of difficulty, he provided for his flock! He was taken to be checked out by paramedics as many parishioners stayed and prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary.
Thank you for your prayers for Fr. Franz's health, for all religious, and for the congregation of St. Stephen's.
