The next time you are tempted to think that God doesn't care if you hurt or if you are lonely, think about what it cost Him to come to earth. He did not come to judge or condemn; He came to demonstrate His personal love for you. Before He left heaven, He knew there would be a cross, and still He was willing to come to you.

Romans 5:17 "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ."

Our good works or personal qualities cannot bring us God's grace, nor can our failures cause God to withdraw it. Grace is given to us regardless of whether we deserve it. We look at grades, scorecards and job evaluations in determining who receives what, but God does not look at merit.
His grace is given freely to us. There is no cost. Our world does not operate this way, but our God does. Not only at the point of salvation but throughout our Christian life, we are invited to come as we are, admit our sinfulness, and receive forgiveness and God's grace. To accept God's wonderful gift of salvation and eternal life, simply pray a prayer like this - "Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that You died on the cross and paid the penalty for my sin. I believe that You rose from the dead three days later. I am placing my faith in You alone to forgive my sin and save me. Thank You for giving me eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Matthew 6:34 - "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

One of the greatest techniques of peaceful people is learning to go about today's business while leaving tomorrow in God's hands. As you focus on what God has placed in front of you today, worry about the future will fade. God will take care of today and tomorrow.

Deuteronomy 1:21 - "Behold, the Lord thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged."

Discouragement is the temptation to evaluate your momentary circumstances apart from the overarching plan of God for your life. God is a God of encouragement. As soon as you become discouraged, cry out to Him in prayer and ask for His help. God wants to hear your prayers, even when discouraged. He will answer and bring encouragement to your heart.

Who are our enemies? Anyone with whom we have a strained relationship or from whom we have received unloving words or deeds. With Christ's help, you can love your enemies as He loves you.

Revelation 1:8 - " I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

The Savior who was with us in the beginning is the same God who will be with us until the end. He is our Alpha and Omega. Everything that happens to us from birth to death is in His hands. We can live in joyful confidence because of Christ.
