🔥 IDENTIFYING MY ALTAR

You can’t have discipleship without an altar.

Throughout Scripture, God brought people to moments of surrender. Abraham had Isaac. Moses had his comfort. Gideon had competing altars. The rich young ruler had his possessions.

Different people. Different circumstances. Same question:

“Do you trust Me enough to surrender what’s in your hands?”

The altar is where discipleship becomes personal. It’s where we stop simply saying, “I believe in Jesus,” and begin saying, “Jesus, You are Lord of my entire life.”

Whatever we refuse to surrender can eventually become something that competes with Jesus.

At the cross, Jesus gave Himself for us.
At the altar, we give ourselves to Him.

Sometimes the sacrifice isn’t giving something up… it’s laying down our pride.

It’s admitting, “I need help.”
It’s telling the truth when it would be easier to hide.
It’s allowing someone into the places we’ve tried to handle on our own.

Pride tells us, “I’ve got this.”
But freedom often begins when we’re willing to say, “I can’t do this alone.”

Sometimes the altar God is calling us to is the place where we finally lay down our pride, become vulnerable, and ask for help.

That is sacrifice too. ❤️‍🔥

WHAT IT AIN’T 🔥

Sacrifice isn’t earning God’s love, paying Him back, or trying to earn a blessing.

God sacrificed first. We simply respond.

The cross comes before our altar.
His love comes before ours.
His sacrifice comes before ours.

True sacrifice is worship, surrender, obedience, and love expressed through action.

Sacrifice is love responding to Love. ❤️

Following Jesus was never meant to be comfortable, it was meant to be transformational.

In our new series, The Cost of Discipleship, we’re digging into what it truly means to follow Jesus. Not just when it’s convenient. Not just when there’s blessing, breakthrough, or favor but when following Him requires sacrifice, surrender, and obedience.

Jesus didn’t call us to be spectators. He called us to be disciples.

The question is no longer just, “What can God do for me?”
It becomes, “What am I willing to give to follow Him?”

✝️ Deny yourself.
✝️ Take up your cross.
✝️ Follow Him.

Discipleship will cost you something, but Jesus is worth everything.
